The Xvive M5 is a digital wireless microphone system comprising a handheld microphone transmitter and a compact receiver that plugs directly into an XLR input – or, with the supplied adapter, any mixer with a 6.3mm jack input. As a result, audio interfaces, active loudspeakers, and portable PA systems can all receive a vocal signal wirelessly, with no need for a standalone receiver unit. Alongside this flexibility, one of the M5's standout features is its compatibility with a wide range of popular dynamic and condenser capsules from many manufacturers, including Shure models. This means that performers can keep their favourite mic sound while still switching to an affordable wireless setup. The M5 transmits in the 5.8GHz band, keeping the system distinct from many Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and similar wireless devices that commonly operate in the 2.4GHz range. Xvive offers the M5 as a single-microphone system with one handheld transmitter, with the M5D Dual Microphone Wireless System available for anyone who requires two microphones and two receivers.

Charge up and get going
Under optimal conditions, the Xvive M5's wireless technology offers a range of up to 30 metres and operates with latency of no more than 5ms, which is virtually imperceptible for singing, speech, and most live applications. Six channel presets are available: Alternatively, the automatic mode can search for a free frequency, allowing multiple transmitter and receiver pairs to operate simultaneously without manual channel selection. For a stable connection, it's recommended to maintain a distance of at least three metres from Wi-Fi routers and other powerful wireless transmitters. Everyday practicality comes from the built-in lithium-ion batteries, with the handheld transmitter providing up to twelve hours of runtime and the receiver up to ten hours. The transmitter also features a mute switch with a status LED.

Ready to perform
The Xvive M5 comes fitted with Xvive's dynamic MH100 microphone capsule as standard, which delivers detailed and natural vocal reproduction. However, singers who already have a preferred microphone capsule, or sound engineers who regularly work with a range of different voices and applications, will appreciate the system's compatibility with a wide range of dynamic and condenser capsules. Up to six systems can be operated simultaneously, allowing multiple artists to move around the stage completely wirelessly. Touring comedians, presenters, and public speakers benefit from being able to use their familiar microphone wherever they go, with the sound characteristics they already know and trust. Wireless freedom also brings added flexibility to podcasters and interview-based productions. A practical touch is the angular shape of the microphone grille, which helps prevent the microphone from rolling away when placed on tables or other smooth surfaces.

About Xvive Audio
Xvive Audio officially entered the market in 2012 with its compact U2 wireless guitar system. Since then, the company has also been involved in the development of wireless microphone technology. Its catalogue also includes effects pedals, such as the Signature Series, which were developed in partnership with guitarist Thomas Blug. The products are designed by an American team, based in Pasadena, California, which is composed of musicians and engineers and draws on decades of professional experience. Its lead designer, Howard Davies, was previously employed at Electro Harmonix and Pigtronix, among others. Xvive Audio's goal is to create products that deliver exceptional sound and build quality, while remaining affordable for any musician.
Reliable on the road
When a performer brings their Xvive M5 to a new venue, they can simply connect the receiver to a microphone input on the house mixing console. If space around the console inputs is limited, a separate XLR cable between the receiver and mixer can help. This can also be useful in more challenging wireless environments: Depending on the cause of any interference, switching to a different channel may be the best solution; alternatively, the receiver can be positioned higher up using an XLR cable, for example mounted on a wall, so that it maintains a clear line of sight to the transmitter for the most stable wireless connection possible. A practical benefit when performing on dark stages is the colour-coded channel LEDs, which make it easy to see which microphone belongs where. Thanks to the adapter the M5 also ships with, the system can also connect to portable audio systems and interfaces with jack inputs. For stereo operation with active loudspeakers, the M5D system is also available, providing two handheld transmitters and two receivers for even greater flexibility.
