Never let anyone own this quality instrument for less than £500!
JazzX 26.06.2017
I needed a new flugelhorn - my old one had grown a hole in one of the slides..

Just a cheap one would do - I went for Thomann's own-brand FH-900 JSL .... for £350

Oh my GOD! ... it is AMAZING!.

That's not me talking - it's the people who've seen me play it.

When I told them that it was a brand new instrument for £350 that could do that ... they were astonished to say the least.

It's terrific - nearly a year now ... would recommend to even professional musicians like myself.

B
This thing is a NO BRAINER for 500-600 dollars!

USA BUYERS BEWARE: I bought this from the Thomann page for 484 dollars, including shipping. However, UPS sent me an email and informed me I had to pay 120 dollars extra due to the tariffs and other miscellaneous things like that. Even at a 600 dollar price point, it's cheaper than competitors in the "budget flugel" market, and sounds incredible!!!

I bought this flugelhorn after my college refund came through, I figured that I'd need one at some point, but not one that costs thousands of dollars. I started digging. I played the ACB Doubler's Flugel at the International Trumpet Guild this past year and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of such an affordable instrument. I also knew about Thomann, and the price of their flugels, so I watched videos on those too. I decided to bite the bullet on the Thomann, I saw many good reviews and comparisons to horns thousands of dollars more and was very impressed. After unboxing it and playing it for several hours, I am even MORE impressed! This horn is incredible for the price that you pay, and sound wise, is on level with professional flugelhorns. My friends were all shocked after I told them the actual price of this flugelhorn when they heard it being played. The shipping is remarkably fast as well, getting from Germany to the US in 4-5 days over the weekend. I am IN LOVE with this horn!!! If you need a flugel as a student, or even as a professional, don't doubt the abilities of this horn!!!

O
Great Horn

I played Jupiters through high school and college, could never afford my own flugel. For my first it’s a pretty rad find.

Not sure what the mouthpiece size is, but it gets the job done. Mine came with a small bottle of valve oil and a polish cloth which is generous.

Shipping was kind of ridiculous actually. UPS got it from Germany to the USA is just 5 days. That was cool.

Going to keep my eye on this supplier in the future.

J
A decent horn to try out

Not the easiest or most comfortable thing to play but, considering the price, it's good if you're just looking to try out a flugelhorn for the first time.
