Weak and likely to fall off
nicolanameless 16.06.2021
The lever to tighten the clip is not easy to use because it is too close to the violin body.
The clip is plastic and bends when you try to get the clip really tight.
Which you try to do because the clip is likely to pull itself out of the single little rubber foot with the slightest tug.
You need to put the microphone stem into the clip before you mount it on the violin because it takes such a lot of pressure the clip will just fall off the violin as you struggle. Similarly it will fall off if you try to bend the microphone stem without also holding the clip, for which three hands would be ideal.

Unbeatable price
Rasfare 11.08.2021
The whole t.bone ovid line has a price point so low that it's almost ridiculous. This clip works very well, just don't tighten anything too hard, it's plastic. But anyways, even the main competitor with clips for 5-6 times the price also get's worn out and is also made of plastic. Tip: get some high quality super glue and glue the rubber parts if they are a little loose, at least they were on mine.

Very flimsy
Mido3000 15.06.2023
I've tried this Violin clip in few gigs and always had issues of it falling off.
The rubber feet comes undone very easily and I had too look for them on stage in the dark last time :(
Its very light weight which is great but needs extra care to make sure you don't touch the mic while playing or get the cable pulled as it will come undone at the first instance
Its a shame there is no better solution as the t.bone ovid mics are really great value for the money.

Effective but not as robust as it might be ... use with care
George_H 01.01.2019
We?re a Ceilidh band who?ve been using one or two Ovid System mics for our fiddles for our occasional gigs over the last couple of years ... amounting to five or six gigs a year. Overall we?re very pleased with the mics, they are great for live performance. However, despite being reasonably careful in attaching the mics (after all, fiddles are fairly delicate!) on one of the Violin Clips the thread of the screw that?s essential for holding the clip on the instrument has become damaged, meaning it won?t stay tightened in the right position. Unfortunately Thomann cannot supply a replacement screw, so we?ve had to buy a new clip. Disappointing! I suppose the lesson is to tighten the screw carefully and not too tight ... but I would never have expected hand tightening a clip to cause damage it!
