The t.racks FIR DSP 408 is a substantial improvement on its predecessor, the t.racks DSP 408, primarily thanks to its integrated FIR filters, a major advantage for anyone seeking phase-linear processing. The front end has also been extensively updated, providing a much clearer interface that makes operation significantly more intuitive, while a variety of remote control options further enhance usability. Despite these improvements, the device retains its four inputs and eight outputs, ensuring that the t.racks FIR DSP 408 remains perfectly suited for larger setups – with no compromises.

No distortion thanks to FIR filters
FIR, or Finite Impulse Response, refers to filters with a finite impulse response, offering the key advantage of linear phase so that the filtered signal experiences no phase distortion. The t.racks FIR DSP 408 provides integrated FIR high-pass and low-pass filters for all eight outputs, supporting up to 1024 taps per filter, while users also have the option to load their own filter coefficients. It's important to note that higher tap counts increase latency, with 1024 taps producing an adjusted latency of 10ms, so using more than 512 taps per filter is generally not recommended. The inputs are also equipped with FIR filters, although here only user-defined filter coefficients can be applied.
