Good suspensions.

I'm using it with PCM-D100 (I know it has a dedicate suspension, tho I didn't really need another wind muff). PCM D100 is a bit on a heavy side and can tilt it a bit, tho after tightening screws it holds in position really well. Great suspension as expected from Rycote

More than just portable recorders
WaveSounds 23.10.2023
I’m using this to isolate a stereo bar setup instead of having a rycote mount for both mics, I can use the lower profile standard hard clips and put the stereo bar up on this. I have a zoom f3 up on the stereo bar as well as the mics. The rycote lyres are stiff and good for heavier applications such as this.

The bottom tilt head connects to the bottom plate of the mount via a 1/4 20 (camera tripod) screw. Unfortunately, due to the thickness of the plate, a regular length tripod screw cannot be secured directly to the plate.

Effective vibration isolation, but flawed design limits field usability
vitalius 14.04.2025
On the bright side, the suspension does a solid job at cutting out unwanted vibrations and handling noise — super important for getting clean field recordings.

That said, there are a few annoying drawbacks. The overall design feels a bit clunky. The build isn’t very flexible, and the Phillips screw used for tilt adjustments is a pain — not ideal when you need to make quick tweaks on the go.

Another issue comes up when you're trying to mount it on something other than a cold shoe. If you're using a cheaper tripod, you'll probably need an adapter, which just makes the whole setup bulkier and kind of awkward to deal with.

Wenn ich nicht müsste ...
Anonymous 26.11.2015
