Two signals for the price of one

The Millenium MS8 is an eight-channel microphone signal splitter in a 19", 1U rack format that is designed for flexible signal distribution in studio and live applications. It features eight lockable XLR inputs on the front panel, with each channel providing two XLR outputs on the rear panel. One output delivers the direct signal, while the second is electrically isolated via a transformer for additional flexibility in different setups. Each channel also includes a switchable pad for input attenuation, while four link switches allow two channels to be combined when required, and ground-lift switches for the transformer-isolated outputs complete the feature set of the Millenium MS8.

Additional link function

By routing each balanced XLR input to both a direct output and a transformer-isolated output, the Millenium MS8 allows a single low-impedance microphone signal to be distributed to two separate destinations. The switchable -40dB attenuation on each channel helps reduce input levels when required, preventing unwanted clipping with higher-output signals. Each channel also features a ground-lift switch to help avoid ground loops caused by multiple grounding paths between connected devices. The link switches provide additional flexibility by combining two channels, allowing one input signal to be distributed to four outputs or two input signals to be combined into a single output. This makes the MS8 a versatile solution for a variety of signal distribution setups.

Cost-effective signal splitting

The Millenium MS8 is an affordable microphone signal splitter featuring eight balanced XLR inputs on the front panel, each routed to a direct output and a transformer-isolated output on the rear panel. Switchable attenuation for each input and individual ground-lift switches provide additional control and help adapt the unit to different signal requirements. Four link switches allow two channels to be combined at a time, offering further flexibility for a range of live and installation setups. With its practical feature set and straightforward operation, the MS8 is well suited to live applications. Its accessible price also makes it an attractive option for users working with a limited budget.

About Millenium

Millenium is one of Thomann's in-house brands and has been an integral part of the store's range since 1995. More than 800 products – from drums and percussion through to accessories such as microphone stands, racks, and recording workstations – bear the Millenium label. These products are made by renowned companies who also manufacture products for other well-known brands. Since they are imported directly from the factory without any further distributors or sales companies, they can be sold at particularly attractive prices. Incidentally, one in every four Thomann customers has already purchased at least one Millenium product.

Ideal for live applications

One practical application for the Millenium MS8 is splitting microphone signals to provide the same input source to both FOH and monitoring mixing consoles at the same time. Phantom power for condenser microphones can be supplied via the direct outputs, allowing compatible microphones to be used without additional equipment. The Link function adds further flexibility by combining two channels and distributing a single input signal across four outputs, for example to FOH, monitoring, recording, and wireless transmission systems. It is also possible to combine two separate input signals and route them to a single output when required. This makes the MS8 a versatile tool for a variety of live and studio signal distribution tasks.

Awesome piece of gear
Jungle Pig 27.08.2026
It's just a splitter so I shouldn't get so enthusiastic about it, however it's a great addition to my rack. I use it as a splitter for the drum mics so I can send them both into the monitoring rig and to the FOH and it works flawlessly. It also has PAD and ground-lift switches, which is a really nice touch. In my case, the volume loss mentioned by other reviewers is too small to actually make a difference in a real-life scenario.

Cheap but cheerful

This is serving me well so far and allows me to split my signals for recording to monitoring (mixer) and to the focusrite interface. The mini switches are a bit of a pest as they are easy to hit by accident when switching inputs but overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

Petite perte de volume générale, sûrement dû au côté passif. Mais rien de grave, fait très bien son job
