Fantastic quality and service.
Christodoulos82 14.09.2022
I bought this ukulele as an upgrade to an all laminate, but really decent Tenor of a very famous brand, that I owned.
I cannot describe in words, the difference in sound and build quality between my previous one and the Kai kti-5000.
Just the sound of it leaves me speechless!
So many frequencies, so much richness and so much sustain.
The instrument itself is so gorgeous up close, I am almost drooling when I am looking at it!
For me it is perfect.
As far as my experience with having it sent to me internationally, everything was perfect too.
The packaging was as safe as it can get, the shipping time really fast and the the instrument itself arrived in a flawless state.
I highly highly recommend it, especially if this is going to be your first all solid wood ukulele, you are in for a treat!
A little something about the nut width, it is listed as 36.5mm here and I believe it is listed as 37mm in the official Kai website, but I took a measure tape and measured mine at 35mm.
To me that is perfectly fine, in fact I prefer it at 35mm.
But to anyone who does not like that, there is some confusion around this subject.

Superb build and tone, and great VFM
guitargeek62 29.06.2020
This is my first tenor ukulele, and first from Kai, but I have to say I'm very impressed with the fit and finish of it. The tone is nice and warm, with decent sustain and string separation. The tuners work smoothly, and there's no binding at all on the nut, or issues with the frets. I quite like the extra volume from the side-soundport too, it's a nice touch and really makes a difference to the player! The woods that it's built with are quite beautiful too, it looks a lot more expensive than it is.

Overall, highly recommended - I can't fault it at all for the price!

Very well finished. Excellent tuners, perfect action, sturdy gig bag. Sounds great with Aquila fifths tuning strings.

Best in class

I gave away my old Harley Benton UK-10S and was looking for a nicer/better replacement.

The Kai KTI-5000 is a well reviewed Ukulele and I liked the look better than similarily priced offerings from other manufacturers.
The all solid Acacia body looks great with bookmatched back, sides and top. The wooden perling and binding is much nicer aswell, than the plastic used by other manufacturers and the same wooden binding continues on the fretboard, which is also not offered by any other manufacturer in this price-range. The mother of pearl rosette gives a little sparkle.

The fretboard is immaculate. The frets are very well done with no sharp edges and all frets are level. The binding on the fretboard actually recesses the frets about 1 mm, which makes it feel very pleasent.

The high gloss finish is well done and I couldn't find any bad spots or marks on my example.

I only use the Ukulele for strumming chords to accompany sing-alongs with friends and family, which is why I immediately restrung the Kai KTI-5000 with a set of brown low-G strings from Worth. These dark brown strings look fantastic on this Acacia Ukulele.
With the low-G setup the Kai KTI-5000 sounds very good for my purpose of supporting sing-alongs and the side-soundhole gives me much better feedback.

I absolutely recommend this Ukulele.

F
One of the least expensive truly inspiring, resonant ukuleles
FoxyInSoxy 08.08.2025
I've been playing this beauty for three years. If you want to get a truly inspiring instrument but you have a limited budget, you have to try this. Real mid-level ukes start around this price point, £250-500. Cheaper ukes disappointed me. But this one is resonant and beautiful and it sounds fantastic whenever people pick it up to play.

I spent ages looking for a cheaper decent uke - Thomann customer services recommended I try this one even though it was above my preferred budget and as soon as I picked it up at home it was an instant connection. No comparison to the cheaper entry-level ukes. Easy decision.

This solid mahogany uke actually made me fall for the ukulele as an instrument because it's a joy to play. Having visited a ukulele shop to audition a few different models, my next upgrade will be something like the Flight Fireball (a classic benchmark 'good uke') or Flight Aviator.

Buying this was one of the best ways I've spent my money and I will be playing it for years to come.

Great ukulele
TerryMc 18.10.2024
This ukulele is a bargain for a top quality product. This is a fully solid instrument with great intonation. This is acoustic with no electronics but is loud enough to cut through the mix if playing along side other ukulele’s.
