I never heard of John Pearse or this brand of strings before browsing Thomann for a special need: new strings for a very old resonator guitar. I've played then, both with and without a bottleneck, for more than two months. They brought out the magic of the old National and still sound fine.

Excellent Quality Resophonic Strings - Buy with Total Confidence!

This is the first time I have tried these strings following a recommendation by a valued colleague. I can only say I'm genuinely delighted. The strings are excellent quality in every respect with wonderful tone.
The 13 - 56 gauge set is a great all round, versatile pack which I use both for slide in D or G tuning and also standard tuning for finger picking.
Absolutely delighted. Buy with total confidence!

replaced strings on Gretsch Alligator .

wow !! hold on to your hat , the 790NR's are a massive improvement over whatever Gretsch uses . Will wake the dead ,whole different ballgame , gets you halfway to a HoneyDipper and yet hangs on to the Juke joint "honk " . Much better than any 4-Star rating . Could not be happier . Thomann comes through again , this company is a class act . spend your $$ here .
