Eight-channel DB25 to XLR multicore
The Hosa DTM-804 is an eight-channel multicore cable for connecting equipment with DB25 outputs to devices with XLR inputs, wired according to the analogue Tascam pin assignment standard. The 4m multicore uses oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors for signal clarity and an OFC spiral shield for protection against electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference. The XLR end is fitted with robust connectors with integrated strain relief, with colour coding and channel numbering running the full length of the cable for clear identification at both ends. The construction is designed for professional recording studios, broadcast facilities, and live sound environments.
Construction and shielding
The OFC conductors of the Hosa DTM804 provide low-resistance signal paths across all eight channels, while the spiral OFC shield maintains consistent EMI and RFI rejection along the cable's full length – particularly valuable where multiple signal cables run in parallel and electrical interference is common. Integrated strain relief protects the XLR connectors against the mechanical stresses of repeated connection and disconnection. Colour coding and numbering allow each line to be identified quickly during patching and signal testing, reducing the risk of misrouting in complex multi-device installations.
