It was very useful in order to practice quietly at night without disturbing anyone. However when buying it I had to send it back twice because the electronics didn't work, no sound when plugged in. And now a few years later the head broke off while playing and flew in the direction of my face. Fortunately I only got a small cut on my finger. The wood must've had defects. I'm sure whatever caused it to break must've been there for all this time, but it's difficult to tell until it's too late. In my case the warranty expired. I mailed Thomann about what happened and was offered to send it back to see if they can repair it. But I don't think it's worth it, since I'd have to pay for shipping, inspection and then repairs.. which would probably cost way more than buying a new one. I'll just buy another brand from somewhere else since Thomann doesn't have any affordable alternatives. A violin is supposed to last for decades, even centuries, not 7 years. Poor quality.
