A whole new beast
woochyna 01.02.2023
Bought these to compliment my v30 and greenback-loaded cabinets and am not disappointed.

Fills the room in a different frequency compared to the v30. Less glassy, more grunty. Plays equally well with my regular D and drop B tuned guitars through a Peavey 5150 or a Jet City JCA22h. Have yet to try my Marshall, but these go well with the American high gain sound type amps.

Loud enough in a 212 setting with a pretty loud drummer and a guitar player that uses a 2x 212 configuration.

This will not replace your v30, but will compliment it, make no mistake.

Big sound with a warm feel

I put 2 of these in a 2X12 and am using it to compliment my Hesu 2X12.

It sits perfectly in the lower mid ranges and fills out my sound making everything feel bigger and more present. I couldn't be happier.

Hält, was der Hype verspricht
grind_your_mind 22.07.2024

Good speaker - but totaly overhyped
Tumidaju 14.11.2024
I tried many speakers in many cabs this year - to find the best sound for metal. This is the most expensive one - and that's it's worst con.
Packing of speaker is top notch, you get extra picks with '7' mark. Speaker chasis has cool grain in paint, cool, but like you ever see it after putting into cab? :P
Spekaer has seal for front-loaded and rear-loaded cab, that's good.
Speaker alone sounds good, have a good thump in low end and low-mids and balanced highs. In low mids have some unique distortion, like speaker breakup, but audible even in bedroom volumes and mostly in open riffs.
In terms of pairing with cabs: it sounds best in a standard size cab, in OS there is weird high-mid resonance.
It terms of amp rather pair it with something classic, like 5150 or recto. On tight clarity beast (randall satan) sound was totaly artificial and unnatural. On moded bugera 6262 (5150
) roar was perfect.
In terms of mixing with other speakers: with Hesu demon there were weird issues like phase-ones in lower mids, with Redback it sounded totally muffled, like old radio under blanket. Only decent pairing i found was with Eminence P50e from VHT/FRYETTE cab - in standard straight cab it was good match, perfect cleans and crunch, roary metal distortion with good clarity on 7string. But... to achieve almost the same sound, like 95% of it, i can use G12T-75 instead DV-77. And here comes PRICE FACTOR in bold - currently in Poland you can buy two used G12T-75 for price of HALF OF DV-77 - and thats ridiculous. For dozens of speakers that I tried, this was probably in top5 in terms of tone, but with this price - hell no!
