Best Wah-Wah Mute Ever

I was researching wah wah mutes for a while. Heard good things about the Jo-Ral mutes but that they can be heavy. Watched some video reviews online of the Best Brass wah-wahs and decided to order the copper "cool jazz" model. I could not be happier!

This mute sounds awesome; very well made, nice and dark, SUPER free blowing (including the low register), and is pretty light-weight!

NOTE: The copper does gradually become darker once its exposed to air, but in my opinion, it looks even cooler then!

I highly recommend this mute!

Cool Indeed for a Red Hot Sizzle

This mute sizzles like a big fat sausage in a red hot pan full of sizzling hot fat. Depending on how much air you push into it, you can go from a mellow saxaphone sound to a crackling sound akin to a crash/ride cymbal with sizzle rivets that explodes into roaring life when really pushed. Can't rate this mute high enough. If your looking for that iconic raw bebop sound for lower volume needs, look no further.

Auf den ersten Blick teuer, aber ist sein Geld wert!

Erstmal passt dieser Dämpfer sehr gut und hält durch den relativ langen Hals und den schwarzen Moosgummi wirklich bombenfest. Die Verarbeitung ist hervorragend, aber das wusste ich von meinen anderen Best Brass Dämpfern schon. Was mich begeistert ist der Klang. Kupfer erzeugt wirklich einen weicheren, volleren Klang, ohne die nötigen Spitzen zu verlieren, die diese Art Dämpfer braucht. Die Intonation ist sehr gut, und stimmt vor allem auch in Tiefe. Bin sehr zufrieden.

Yo sabía perfectamente qué era lo que quería. De hecho, me bastó leer la frase con la que Thomann anuncia el producto para decidirme sin dilación («tiene ese sonido que muchos trompetistas buscan») frente a otras opciones que también consideré, y me alegro muchísimo de haberlo adquirido porque no me equivoqué ni un ápice, ya que entrega ese sonido, tan hipnótico como cálido, que tanto y tan bien nos supo trasladar Miles Davis (por citar un famoso ejemplo), y que verdaderamente parece emanado del alma. Recomiendo esta excelente como relativamente ligera sordina al 100%, ya que, lejos de defraudarme, me ha colmado totalmente. ¡Bravo, bravísimo por este fabricante y este producto en concreto! ¡Viva la excelencia!
