With stereo overdrive and uni-vibe, each effect has two voicings versatile enough for funky bright sounds to explosive and warm lead tones.
The Vibe knob provides everything from a classic uni-vibe to a full-blown vibrato
Each effect can be activated individually and the order is selectable
Five presets can be loaded and customised with the Eventide Device Manager (EDM) software

Zur Technik: sehr gute Verarbeitung, einfache Bedienung, Mono/Stereo Ausgang, 5 frei belegbare Preset Slots, Netzadapter mit verschiedenen Stecker-Typen inklusive (entgegen der Produktbeschreibung).

Zum Sound: Drive und Vibe klingen rund und überaus ausgewogen.
Der Drive reicht vom dezent und kaum wahrnehmbaren Crunch bis zum dreckigen Overdrive. Die zwei verschiedenen Voicings verbreitern das Spektrum nochmals.
Der Vibe reicht vom langsamen, dezenten Vibrato bis zum intensiven "wobbly" Phaser Sound. Auch hier stehen zwei Voicings zur Verfügung.
Zu guter Letzt kann auch noch die Reihenfolge der Effekte variiert werden (Drive into Vibe vs. Vibe into Drive). Der Unterschied ist deutlich hörbar und bietet nochmals zusätzliche Flexibilität.

Fazit: Der Riptide ist m.E. ein durchdachtes, überaus gelungenes Pedal. Verarbeitung, Sound, Vielseitigkeit - bei mir blieben keine Wünsche offen. Absolute Empfehlung.
