Rottenburgh Tenor Recorder

Like the violin, the classical recorder also dates from the Baroque period. The cultural centres of that period were Paris, London, Amsterdam, Nuremberg and Brussels. The renowned recorder maker Friedrich von Huene has examined almost all remaining original instruments from this period, which are being held today in museums. From the sum of his data, the Moeck Rottenburgh baroque recorders in the style of the instruments by the recorder maker Jean-Hyacinth-Joseph Rottenburgh were created.

Characterised by their brilliant pitch and modern tuning, today they are the most frequently played Baroque solo recorders available, which have proven themselves to be an especially reliable instrument.

It's been the third week of playing in this instrument and I love the sound and the feeling when playing it. It is an upgrade from my plastic Yamaha tenor and I like the fact that it is slightly shorter than the plastic one. The sound it is strong and flexible and speaks very well in the high register, although I'm still in playing in period.

There are few drawbacks:

Generally boxwood has some black marks, which in my case was also at the edge of the third hole and created an "imperfection" in eye. Also this hole had been undercut and combining with this black mark I thought it was a knot. Hopefully I emailed precise photos to Thomman and within a day they responded me that this is normal and explained why. The same email I send it to Moeck customer service but I haven't receive a reply.
I have to admit here that the instrument is very well tuned.

Another drawback for me is the case , it's very heavy and hard.

A last minor thing I don't like is the Moeck logo. It's big and red painted, I would prefer something more district.
