I use both these and the long versions in multiple places around my kit. They are incredibly solid and will easily handle gigging and constant set up and tear down.

Having memory locks is a must for consistent set up, especially if you use quite a lot of (too many) cymbals. Another added feature, which is why I decided to go with these. The break tilter (the little screw you lock with your tuning key) it prevents the tilter from collapsing, even if the wingnut comes undone. After using these for quite a while now, I can genuinely say that they work exactly as intended and I 100% trust them.

I use this as for a splash and bell on my tom mount and a second on a tri-mount for an 16/18 stack, and it can easily take the weight of both the bigger cymbals and the constant abuse of a hard hitter.

Overall I would absolutely recommend you go with these if you need a smaller boom for splash and other effect cymbals, as well as bigger cymbals that you might need tucked away or don't need the excess length for any reason.

I see no downsides to these or most Gibraltar products and will continue to use their products forever.

I use this cymbal boom arm on my drum rack for holding my splash cymbal.
It's really solid and come with few memory lock which are always good addition.
This cymbal boom arm is great for holding bells, splashes, small cymbal etc.
I really recommend this cymbal boom arm.

A useful, well made accessory

i've been using Gibraltar stuff for years and this is just as sturdy and well made as I expected, perfect for smaller cymbals (16" max just because the arm is fairly short), useful for stacks, splashes and FX cymbals

Love my Gibraltar rack. Yes they can be heavy and it looks like your moving house when you turn up with it all bagged up - but i wouldn't go back to separate stands for full kit setup. I went to town on memory locking everything and in 15mins I can have a 7 pc kit with 6 cymbals set back up exactly as I previously played it. I think they'll always divide the drumming community but I'm a convert if I'm taking my full kit out it will always be my racked setup. If I only need a small set up, i'll just leave my whole rack set up at home and take a few stands and the bits i need. Recommend - memory lock everything! With the closeness and number of ways to mount, I found that i needed more of this shorter version than i expected and fewer of the longer boom ones)
