Very pleased with this pedal
Use it in church with a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass V. The sound has changed dramatically from the previous Boss ME-50B to a very good, phat, deep tone. After getting used with it for a while and some tone tweaks (both in pedal and mixer board) the bass sounds amazing.
I chose this over Tech 21 SansAmp Character VT Bass DI because it's much simple to use and to find a good tone. Since we are using it in church we don't need a huge number of different tones, but only one good tone beeing used over and over again. Since our bass player is not so deeply involved in technology, I did not want a pedal that would overwhelm him with choices (like VT Bass DI which can give you a huge variety of tones with only minor adjustments) but a simple no-nonsense pedal with a very good tone. Found it!
I also chose this over sepparate Ampeg Analog Bass Preamp and Ampeg Scramble overdrive pedals because this one also have DI-box incorporated which allowed me to eliminate the dedicated DI-box and thus to reduce complexity from our setup.
One minus point would be the knobs which rotates very easily and setup can be altered much too easy.
Next aquisitions will be an Ampeg Opto Comp and a Boss TU-3 tuner and that's it for bass. One additional role for the tuner would be to allow bass player to mute de whole setup after finishing playing, without altering any volume knobs, thus assuring a constant volume to the mixing board anytime.
