Fender Meteora upgrade

This bridge look super cool on my Fender Meteora, a lot better than the Fender stock bridge. But it does not only look cool, but works better. The arm is exactly as tight as I want it to be, nothing is loose, even when I set it up so the arm falls freely when I release it from my hand, when in Fender despite the fact that you have to screw the arm in there's still a lot of rattling going on and have to use some small spring to stabilise the trem arm. Fender is a lot o hustle, when with Gotoh you got premium quality hardware for even lower price. I've not noticed even a slightest trace of compromise in overall quality of Gotoh EV510T-FE-C. Tuning stability, weight, sustain, their string routing inside the trem block - I just can't help but love this bridge.

Small tip, if you do not want to screw the arm in, just unscrew the screw at the bottom of the trem arm socket. I've made a new/spare screw with the thread filled smoth so it goes inside the arm without the need of "screwing the arm in" and it still is super stable.

The evolution of a classic bridge

Gotoh has been making great pieces of hardware for a long time and this is yet another great example of something that not only looks great but also works extremely well.

This bridge works brilliantly well for a floating trem setup and it feels great to use.

Totalmente estable y fácil de ajustar

He sustituido u puente original Fender, mucho más caro, de una Meteora porque no me convencía la palanca vintage a rosca. Queda muy floja y con algo de holgura. Además, en la Meteora (¿fallo de diseño...?) no se puede dejar pegado para afinar en Drop en un segundo porque la palanca choca con el pote de tono.
Aún así, he de decir que el Fender es un buen puente. pero decidí cambiarlo.
La sorpresa. Pese a ser más barato, la comodidad, la resonancia, la estabilidad y la facilidad de realizar cualquier ajuste superan con creces al original. En el Fender la octavación de la sexta cuerda era engorrosa (llegaba al tope).

Hay que decir que requiere intervención mínima al ser los postes de apoyo en métrica respecto al original en pulgadas.
Se necesita un tornillo de unos 10 cm. o más de 1/4-28" (medida extraña) para sacar los casquillos con cuidado y sin daño.
Y hay que abrir los agujeros 0,2 mm. con una broca de 10.
Recomiendo avellanar con una fresa, muy despacio para no hacer saltar la pintura, apenas 1/2 mm.

Un gran puente, como todo lo de Gotoh. Estable, fiable, fácil de ajustar y muy a valorar que la palanca esté donde la dejaste y no hay que buscarla.
También se puede ajustar la dureza si te gusta más suelta.
