Rockboard CINQUE 5.3 with ABS Case

Of course it's big, so it will shout "YES, I HAVE SOMETHING TO COMPENSATE FOR" but i'd rather have a small pp thant not having this board.
it's sturdy, practical, and not cheap for a piece of folded aluminium.
but well ... it's a great excuse to buy more pedals, so who cares ?! pedals are for bourgeoisie anyway. the more we spend the better.
If you buy it you're half communist because it IS as sturdy as a T-34 or a LADA.

Das Board selbst ist toll verarbeitet. Es passt ne Menge drauf. Es ist riesig, und das wollte ich so. Es wird vollbeladen natürlich sehr schwer, aber das war mir auch klar.
Nur: vom Case bin ich für den Preis sehr enttäuscht. Habe es nur aus Bequemlichkeit nicht zurück geschickt. Der Deckel schließt nicht richtig, es ist ein saublödes Gefummel, bis die 3 Scharniere gleichzeitig ineinander greifen. Dann rutscht das Board im Case hin und her, weil der Schaumstoff nicht hoch genug ist. Und die Griffe machen den Eindruck jeder Zeit abzubrechen. Trau mich fast nicht es da zu greifen. Geht aber manchmal nicht anders. Die Rollen sind gut. Hab mir das soft case bestellt....

The board itself is usual Rockboard quality and I have no qualms on the quality of that, however this is sold as with an ABS case and as a product as a whole it's abysmal.

The board itself is too small for the case, this is clearly the 5.4 case with some packing foam glued in. The lid of the case has a similar foam arrangement, however the eggshell style foam isn't deep enough to hold the board down when it's closed. This means the weight of the fully loaded board just sits against the foam in the base rather than snuggly held in the case so it can rattle around when being carried. Multiple times I've opened the case after transporting to find the board is just sort of loose in the case.

Speaking of the case, even for ABS construction it feels flimsy. The closing mechanism is annoying but functional but any tall people wanting to wheel this around, as it does come with wheels, will find the handle it awkwardly positioned to hit you in the back of the thigh as you're pulling it, or if you have a guitar on your back repeatedly smack into the back of your guitar case. The wheels are loud and not great to use as they're small, any minor bump or unlevel pavement or road the case is unwieldy to pull around.

The overall fit and finish is just not up to standard, just buy the soft carry case if you need a board this big, or look at another brand.
