Real bronze from the Far East

Zultan's most affordable cymbal series is called Aja – pronounced "Asia" – and, as the name suggests, is made in China. But unlike the machine-made B8 bronze cymbals offered in the same price range by their competitors, the Ajas are cast from high-quality B20 bronze and finished by hand. In addition to the 19" crash, the Aja range includes other individual cymbals in various sizes and designs, as well as various preconfigured sets.

B20 – the standard yesterday, today, and tomorrow

In China, people have been familiar with the manual production of gongs and cymbals for centuries, so a lot of experience has gone into making the Aja series. 80 percent copper and 20 percent tin, B20 for short, is the bronze alloy that has long been known to be the magic formula for high-quality, melodious cymbals. As the Aja cymbals are finished by hand, each one is unique, which means that slight sound variations among individual cymbals of the same model are normal. The sound of the Zultan 19" Aja Crash is harmonious and balanced, with a bright, full-bodied wash.

Zultan 19" Aja Crash, Detail

Good sound doesn't have to cost a fortune

High-quality cymbals are often unaffordable for beginners: Drummers on a budget will love the fact that Zultan Aja cymbals offer a lot of sound for not a lot of money. And it won't matter if they're playing Rock, Alternative, Grunge, Pop, or Funk – the Zultan 19" Aja Crash can be used in all of these genres and more thanks to its clear and powerful sound. This also means that this crash might be exactly the thing more advanced drummers are looking for to round off their setup.

About Zultan

To provide traditional craftsmanship at a fair price has been the guiding principle of Zultan ever since it was founded in 2000. The firm’s practice of selling directly to the end customer makes it possible to offer very customer-friendly prices. Nevertheless, the production process for Zultan’s trademark cymbals, which are made mainly in Turkey, is of the highest quality, a fact which has ensured they have also been a fixture in the Thomann range since 2011. The nearly 250 Zultan products cover several cymbal series, catering for all sectors of the music market. Zultan also offers accessories such as bags and drumsticks. Thanks to the use of high-quality materials and manufacturing expertise, Zultan really does offer uncompromising quality at a reasonable price.

Save money – but in the right places

Anyone who's serious about drumming, be they a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, knows that the sound of their cymbals is just as important as all the great features – and the cool look! – of their newly acquired drums. No matter whether it's only this 19" crash, or a complete Zultan Aja cymbal set for even better value for money – the investment is definitely worth it, because the cymbals sound so good that even experienced drummers will get years of playing pleasure from them. And the Aja range is so diverse that other cymbals from the hi-hat, crash, ride, china, and splash categories can be purchased later, or as needed, to meet players' changing demands.

Great cymbal

Zultan is a great brand and even with a cheap cymbal like this, they deliver great quality with a descent sound! I bought this as a cheap quick replacement and stuck to it.
Sounds great in the studio and is loud on stage!

Not the sound i expected.

I bought this along with the 17" Aja Crash and I was surprised to hear that the 17" crash actually has a lower pitch than this. It has a very high pitch for a crash this size. You also have to hit it very hard to get the sound out of it. It feels as though this is something in between a crash and a ride although it doesn't do a very good job at either of those. The bell of the cymbal is as loud as you'd expect from a ride. You could maybe use this cymbal as a ride for smaller acoustic gigs.

Inbrekable

I'm a working, pro rock drummer. And used and tried dozens of crash cymbals that eventually break despite of their thickness, price and sound. This one simply doesn't breake. The sound is on the rough side, but for this price I can't imagine better deal. Bought 18" too. Considering the sound, I play big venues and open airs so being completely miked, this cymbal gets the job done with slight EQ adjustments.
