I’d been touring with a Stage Custom for a number of years when I decided to upgrade to this kit. I was already really happy with the dependability and features of the SCs, but was expecting a big step up in quality here, and I wasn’t let down in the slightest. I play thrash metal, but the drums seem incredibly versatile, depending on the tuning. The kick drum is a monster, and the most low-end heavy I’ve ever played.
The shell hardware just plain works, and there’s a good feel of quality with all of the tension rods etc, with nothing catching or feeling odd. Photos don’t really do the finish justice - it looks amazing in person.
The initial kit that was sent to me was damaged beyond repair in transit (due to the local courier tossing the kick drum box over my gate down onto solid concrete, landing on its side), but Thomann staff swiftly sorted it, and sent another to me via a Pallet Service, which ensured it safely arrived in one piece. An awkward situation having to return the damaged kit and wait around, but it can’t really be helped, and the kit was well worth the wait in the end.
