Sounds good on drums or for an extremely crunchy guitar tone. A little CPU heavy, can overwhelm the bass on some jumper settings. Worth getting on sale, can add some very nice tone to digital drums, samples and drum machines.

Klangliche Aufwertung im Masterbus für Live Klassik Konzerte

Wir nutzen das Waves BSS DPR-402 im Masterbus zur Aufwertung von Live-Mitschnitten unserer klassischen Konzerte. Dabei haben wir zwei Instanzen des Plug-Ins in Wavelab mit unterschiedlichen Jumper-Einstellungen in Serie, einmal für die Mitten, einmal für die Höhen.
Das Ergebniss kann sich hören lassen, die Aufnahme wirkt wesentlich transparenter und satter. Die CPU-Last hält sich dabei in Grenzen und erscheint angemessen. Klanglich für mich top.
Weniger schön ist die nicht skalierbare Oberfläche, die zwar eine schöne Nachbildung, aber dadurch auch nicht sehr verständlich ist. Das mickrige Handbuch hilft dabei nicht weiter. Man muss schon recht viel Zeit investieren und verschiedenes Material bearbeiten um die Feinheiten zu erhören und dann zielgerichtet arbeiten zu können.
Schlussendlich aber ist die Kombination aus Preis und Klangqualität kaum zu überbieten.
