A DJ's best friend

The box pro DSP 115 is a highly versatile two-way active speaker for live applications that combines affordability, lightweight design, and a powerful low end. Its frequency range of 48Hz to 19kHz delivers a deep and punchy bass, making it an excellent choice for mobile DJs, event hosts, and venues requiring an impactful and bass-heavy sound. However the box pro DSP 115 performs equally well in hi-fi scenarios, thanks to its 15" woofers, which produces slightly recessed mids and a strong low end, allowing music to shine while maintaining clarity in the high frequencies. It boasts a maximum SPL of 136dB and 350W RMS power output, delivering ample volume for parties, bars, and small clubs. The two hybrid XLR/jack inputs accept both microphone and line-level sources, and an additional mini-jack input can connect playback devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones, while the XLR output seamlessly integrates into larger sound systems.

Powerful DSP processing

At the heart of the DSP 115 is an integrated digital signal processor (DSP), which offers four preset modes - Music, Live, Speech, and DJ - tailoring the sound for different applications. A three-band EQ provides ±12dB increments for fine-tuning bass, midrange, and treble frequencies, easily adapting to different acoustic environments. The graphic LC display - a feature typically found on much higher-end speakers - allows users to monitor input levels and adjust settings with precision. When used with a subwoofer, the built-in high-pass filter provides four selectable crossover points (80Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz, and 150Hz), optimising bass extension. To prevent signal distortion and ensure reliable operation, the box pro DSP 115 is also equipped with a built-in automatic limiter to protect against unwanted overloads.

Flexible sound reinforcement

The box pro DSP 115 can be used in many scenarios. Both inputs feature an independent gain control, allowing singer-songwriters to balance vocals and instruments, wedding hosts to adjust speech levels against background music, and DJs to get the party going. While its plentiful low-end reserves makes it ideal for DJs, dance music, and entertainment venues, its slightly recessed midrange is less suited to speech-focused events like conferences or presentations, where a model with more midrange presence, such as the Pyrit 15A (article no. 229657) may be preferable for vocal clarity. In a stereo setup, the box pro DSP 115 fully showcases its broad frequency response, making it a strong choice for nightclubs, large bars, restaurants, and other lively venues.

The 90° x 60° dispersion angles guarantee an even sound coverage in large spaces like bars, lounges, and small venues. The threaded mounting socket allows it to stand securely at ear level, optimising coverage for standing audiences, in addition to which the angled cabinet can be set at 45° or 55°, making it a practical floor monitor for live performers and DJs. Although it is not designed for suspended installation, its sturdy casing, easy handling, and impressive power output make the box pro DSP 115 a reliable choice for mobile professionals. Though it lacks Bluetooth connectivity and an integrated mixer with per-channel EQ, those prioritising power, clarity, and ease of use will find the box pro DSP 115 a straightforward, powerful, and versatile sound reinforcement tool.

You get what you pay for!

At first it was the good reviews and fair price what convinced me to buy pair of these speakers 07.2018. After first 6 months of use nothing bad to say about these speakers, but after that had only problems with them. At first the speaker started to make strange rattle noise, but no problems (thomann changed faulty tweeter). After that one of the amplifiers went silent. (-1 for Thomann, because site didn't allow to return this product and no one answered my e-mails) so I took it to local audio service center. They fixed faulty transistor, but I had to pay amount of 70,00 euro for that fix. After another time of use speaker woofer coil lead wires burned down at wedding. One speaker and then another (at different weddings). And that was it, I keep them in garage and seriously considering selling them. Maybe these ones was first delivery ones with faulty parts, but I'd say stay away from these speakers or You will learn the hard (expensive) way as I did.

Use:
- Wedding DJ, sometimes live performance. Over two years only 15 performances overall.
Clarity:
- DSP works fine and clarity overall when not too loud is acceptable even in medium venues.
Pros:
- Cheap, DSP, 3 handles.
Cons:
- Low quality parts inside, not reliable for pro or semi pro use, when the bass is boosted, the box rattles anyway.

Overall:
If you re amateur and will use these boxes only for home parties, then maybe You can think about these boxes. Any other type of use I recommend to save more money and buy something BETTER.

M
Excellent speakers!! They can't be beat at that pricepoint!
Mandalorian 01.06.2020
I bought the speakers after a recommendation from a friend who's an experienced soundtech and used them in all kinds of live situations. I primarely bought these to use them for vocals at band practice, but since we haven't started yet, i'm using them at home for multiple purposes like listening to music, practicing vocals, using them as a home theater speakers with large TV, etc. The sound clarity is excellent! Bass is deep and defined, highs are amazing for this price point! They're also very well built! They have two mic pre's and LCD with DSP on the back, which is very easy to use. You can also turn the front blue light on or off, which is a nice little feature. The speakers have hiss, but that's something i shouldn't even be mentioning, since that's a stardard with most speakers, especially PA's.

I should also mention, that i ordered and pay for two STOCK ones, when they were still available. The next day Thomann notified me that only one speaker is available and they automatically swaped in a new speaker, which was probably due to reason, so i can get the order ASAP, but at a regular price! They did ask me if i wanted to proceed with the order. After couple of emails, they offered me a brand new one at the same price as Stock one, so i'm grateful for that! In an ideal world i'd like to see that gestured from the start, since it was their mistake offering something that's not available, claiming that it is. But that's really a minor thing, since everything turned out just great. They are very responsive, despite having crazy amounts of orders every day.

Overall i'm very happy with the speakers and with fast response, incredibly fast shipping and quality music gear from Thomann. I'll definitely buy here again!

i use these for house music events, i have a pair of DSP115 on a Tframe over a single RCF 8003 mk2 each side, i run them in monitor mode and leave the onboard eq flat.

now that the heavey work is taken up by the rcf's the dsp115 are free to run to ear shattering volumes, the 136db rating is completely believable.

i was running the stupidly expensive rcf 745a and wasnt really to happy with the spl output although where slighlty better sound quality but not £1000 on top of the dsp 115 better! the rcf 8003 mk2 sub though can not be faulted and puts out truly biblical bass.

This is the speaker for a ruff enviroment, its loud and inexpensive. you wont lose to much sleep if one goes bang unlike the expensive brands.

one of the most important factors for me is that the volume knobs are removable and cant be tampered with by the general public.

i currently run the jbl prx range also, these will now be sold to make way for more dsp 115.

so for me these are perfect for house music crossed over at 100hz with big subs underneath, i could not be happier!
