Simple choice: three-pin
The Stairville DMX Splitter 8 USB 3-Pin is a classic DMX splitter featuring exclusively 3-pin XLR sockets, offering a surprisingly large number of outputs for the price. Also impressive are its technical specifications, one of which is the galvanic isolation, which electrically decouples connected devices and protects them in the event of a fault. An integrated terminating resistor can be activated for proper impedance matching. Techs who like it tidy will be pleased to know that the splitter can be mounted in a rack. As an added bonus, two USB ports are located on the front panel, which can be used not only to charge a smartphone but also to connect console lighting.
Distribute DMX directly
The Stairville DMX Splitter 8 USB 3-Pin distributes a single DMX signal to up to eight identical outputs, all actively controlled and distinctly marked by red LEDs indicating the operating status – a green LED confirms when a controller is connected and a signal is present. An additional passive output is also built-in, and all connections are made via 3-pin XLR sockets, which ensures a consistent interface and a logically structured rear panel. Both the input and the outputs are galvanically isolated, with an isolation rating of up to 2000V, whilst the layout remains practical and tidy: All signal connections are located on the front panel, and only the permanently attached mains cable and the fuse holder are fitted to the rear panel.
For smart saving
Club operators can speed up their setups and reduce cable outlay with the Stairville DMX Splitter 8 USB 3-Pin, which enables multiple device chains to be efficiently powered by a single DMX signal. The cost of the splitter thus pays for itself quickly even in smaller venues, while thoughtful details such as the built‑in, switchable terminator further streamline installation, even for less experienced users. Equally, because each output can handle a chain of up to 32 DMX devices, the splitter is also ideal for medium to large stages. And in for larger venues with long cable runs, the buffered and amplified outputs ensure a strong, reliable signal, with the 19-inch rack compatibility making permanent installations easy to implement.
About Stairville
Since it was introduced in 1994, Thomann's in-house brand Stairville has been a permanent fixture in the store's product range. The brand primarily focuses on the field of stage lighting in general, and its products include spotlights, moving lights, and theatre lighting as well as smoke machines, electronic control systems, and every other accessory you can think of. Thomann constantly has around 1,600 Stairville products on offer, and the figures speak for themselves: Statistically, one in every fifteen Thomann customers owns at least one Stairville product. Incidentally, the name "Stairville" is also a catchy English translation of "Treppendorf", the town that Thomann calls home.
One small splitter, fewer long cables
For touring bands with additional equipment such as fog machines, wind machines, or special floor spotlights, a Stairville DMX Splitter 8 USB 3-Pin will allow them to seamlessly integrate their individual setup into any venue's lighting system. Simply connect the existing DMX controller to the splitter's input, then daisy-chained the adjacent spotlights to the active outputs, leaving at least one output free for the band's own equipment. To ensure signal integrity, the built-in terminating resistor can be activated if the passive output is not required. Additionally, the splitter offers a further practical convenience: Two 5V USB ports on the front panel enable musicians to charge smartphones or power other small USB devices like MIDI pedals or lamps.
