The slim and easy-to-play neck has a fingerboard made of ovangkol, a west African wood that comes very close to the more expensive ebony in terms of sound and feel. The vanishingly thin layer of satin varnish not only makes the instrument appealing optically, but also ensures that the woods can vibrate unhindered. In addition, the integrated preamp ensures that the Delta Blues MJCE can really show what it's made of when amplified electrically. Alongside a four-band tone control and the obligatory volume pot, the integrated PT-20 preamp also has a tuner with an illuminated display.
