Regular Light, bulk pack of 25

The D'Addario EXL110 is the company's best-selling electric guitar string set – a Regular Light gauge (.010, .013, .017, .026, .036, .046) in nickel-plated steel roundwound construction, manufactured in New York and largely unchanged in specification since 1974. The B25 designation is a bulk pack of 25 sets, priced considerably below the equivalent individual purchase – aimed at players who restring frequently enough that buying in volume is simply the rational choice. Colour-coded ball ends run across the entire D'Addario XL range, and in a bulk pack context they earn their place: Each string is immediately identifiable when pulling a set from a box of 25.

Hex core and nickel wrap

D'Addario's hexagonal core wire – introduced in the early 1970s and proprietary to the XL series – provides a mechanical grip on the winding that a round core does not. The result is a winding that stays seated under tension, contributing to the set's tuning stability and consistent intonation across the full scale length. The nickel-plated steel wrap produces the tonal character the EXL110 is known for: a bright fundamental with a well-developed harmonic series, stronger in the upper mids and presence frequencies than a pure nickel wrap would be – versatile enough to work across clean and driven contexts without significant character shift, and present enough to cut through a dense mix when needed. Tension runs from 16.2lbs on the high E to a peak of 19.0lbs on the wound A, with a notably even distribution across the set that contributes to the balanced feel under the picking hand.

Who buys 25 sets at once?

The bulk pack format targets working guitarists, touring musicians, guitar technicians, and teaching studios that maintain several instruments. At Regular Light gauge, the EXL110 sits at the most neutral point in the XL range – light enough for comfortable bending and vibrato, heavy enough for rhythm work with gain without the strings feeling loose or imprecise. The honest gauge consideration is straightforward: Players who prefer a lighter touch or routinely play in dropped tunings may find .009s a better fit; those who want more mass under the pick for heavy rhythm work may prefer .011s. Both gauges are available in equivalent bulk packs.

About D'Addario

In the world of stringed instruments, D'Addario is one of the largest manufacturers of strings themselves. The origins of the brand date back to 17th century Italy, but production was moved to New York in 1905 and even today, the brand's strings are still made and further developed in the USA. D'Addario now offers something for every need, from simple and low-priced strings to coated models and Hex-core strings. Apart from strings, the range has been expanded to include various accessories for guitarists, and other brands such as Planet Waves, Evans, Rico, and Pro Mark, which manufacture accessories for various groups of instruments, now also belong to D’Addario.

Genres, styles, and the XL range

The .010-.046 gauge suits most electric guitar formats without modification – standard-scale single-cuts, semi-hollows, and hardtail or vibrato-equipped instruments all run the EXL110 as a default. The nickel-plated wrap handles clean and driven tones without significant character shift between the two – the set stays defined under high gain and retains enough warmth for clean Jazz or Blues work. For players whose gauge requirements differ, the D'Addario XL range covers a wide span of gauges, with .009 and .011 bulk packs also available from Thomann, for players who want the same value proposition at a different tension.

Great pack from D'Addario

It's one of the best purchases I've ever made.
It's really practical. Keeps the strings away from corrosion and guarantees that you'll never worry about replacing your strings, any more.
I wish that D'Addario made this for acoustic guitar strings. too.

Best in the studio

Having 25 sets of this strings in one box in the studio is very convenient, but it takes some space and the E and A strings can be difficult to pull out sometimes. Even so: I'm satisfied because I have this strings on most of my guitars. For many people, a 10 pack or two might be a better alternative, certainly on the road. Having that said: I will probably always have a box like this standing in my studio.

Excellent value for money buying in bulk the only way to go for serious players the investment is well worth it. Daddario have been around for a while and their quality is as good as any of the big brand names.

Good deal

I got it because I didn't want to run out of strings suddenly, have been using them for about 2 weeks now, and haven't noticed any signs of wear. I don't really think there is much of a difference between these and ernie balls, because i have used both, though i wish other brands would sell their strings in bulk like this
