Ultra-compact USB controller
Arturia's MicroLab Mk3 is a sleek, 25-key USB-MIDI controller tailored for musicians working in environments where space is at a premium – home studios, portable rigs – or simply when a two-octave keyboard with transpose functions is sufficient. Its velocity-sensitive mini keybed balances playability, control, and portability. The minimalist interface – featuring two touch strips, four function buttons, and a Hold button – keeps operation intuitive and distraction-free. Lightweight and durable, the MicroLab Mk3 is ideally suited to laptop-based production setups, offering essential performance features in a plug-and-play, easy to transport format.
Slim keys and essential controls
The 25-note velocity-sensitive keyboard on the Arturia MicroLab Mk3 is complemented by two touch strips for pitch-bend and modulation – a space-efficient alternative to traditional wheels. Four dedicated buttons handle octave shifting and preset navigation, while the Hold function sustains notes for more expressive performances. Chord mode lets users trigger full harmonies from a single key, helping sketch ideas and build progressions more quickly. Via Arturia's MIDI Control Center software, the velocity curve of the keyboard can be customised to individual playing styles.
Software integration and workflow
Arturia's MicroLab Mk3 is designed to work seamlessly with software instruments and DAWs. When used with Analog Lab Intro, the touch strips and buttons double as preset navigation controls, minimising reliance on a mouse. USB-C connectivity provides class-compliant MIDI communication and bus power, ensuring straightforward plug-and-play operation across macOS and Windows systems. The sustain pedal input further extends performance control.
About Arturia
Arturia's success story began with software emulations of well-known analogue synthesizers such as the Moog Minimoog, Sequential Prophet-5, and Oberheim SEM. The popular software instruments included in the V Collection are still flagship products of the French developer today. Over time, Arturia has gradually expanded its range and now also offers a host of hardware devices, ranging from synthesizers and keyboard controllers to sequencers. Since then, the former software developer has thus also become a household name in the world of analogue synthesizers and other equipment.
Starter software package
The Arturia MicroLab Mk3 comes bundled with Analog Lab Intro, offering 500 curated presets drawn from Arturia's acclaimed V Collection and Pigments instruments – including synth leads, basses, electric pianos, pads, and hybrid textures – that provide a versatile sonic foundation tailored to the two-octave keybed. Ableton Live Lite delivers a complete yet streamlined DAW environment for developing ideas into full productions. Arturia's MIDI Control Center software manages controller configuration, firmware updates and preset storage, ensuring the MicroLab is adapted to the task at hand. As bundled software packages may evolve over time, the manufacturer's website should be consulted for the most current details.
