Did not work well on my tenor saxophone
Zsemle 17.07.2020
good:
It did attach well to the bell of my saxophone. The neck is flexible enough. It did give cracking sounds when shaping it first, but it felt normal. The build quality felt good.

bad:
However I positioned it, it felt like it can not cope with the huge dynamic range of a saxophone. It felt like it's just too loud for this mic. When positioned it off to the side from the air stream, I could dial in more gain, but it didn't improve the overall sound quality. The sound has a lack of bass tones, it is very thin.
It was picking up a lot of the vibration, the beat from the closing valves. When playing softly, it is more audible than the actual note.
I would not recommend it for a saxophone.

note: I was using it with the Behringer 204HD. The sound level resulting from my setup was too low, but it's to be seen whether it was the mic's or the audio interface's issue or setting. Only tried with my tenor sax.

Great sound. Flexible system.

I bought the CC 100RC mainly for a live mic for flute and other instruments. I needed the mic to be placed in unusual positions and place in order to get certain sounds more difficult to achieve with a stand-fixed mic. The sound is remarkably accurate and it gives a well balanced response across the frequency spectrum. Certainly, for flute this mic is ideal and I've experienced very few issues with feedback so far. The weight and size means it easily fits on without being too cumbersome. I like the gooseneck as it really allows for the perfect position. One slight drawback is that some of the parts are very delicate and it would not take much to damage the small plugs. Then again, this is a mic for more precise placement and delicate use.

Very good

I bought this mic for a flute. It works real good and really gives a true sound of the flute with very little to no eq adjustments. I am very happy with this system and recomend it for any wind instrument. There are plenty of instument adaptors available

Works great for violin and acoustic instrument
DaveScot 09.12.2022
Bought a few of these for a school music dept. I STRONGLY recommend buying this model with the detachable cable in case the very thin cable gets damaged. You will not be repairing it yourself! The sound quality is good enough and a huge step up from trying to use mics on stands, especially with inexperienced musicians. There is some LF roll-off but in most cases that is not a big issue as you would probably be adding an HPF anyway. If you are micing a cello or double-bass I would strongly recommend the Lucan series as a better alternative.
