Sweet as Tupelo honey
I prefer the smoth and warm tone. The last years I bought Special 20 harps because they give me what I am looking for. People often say that you can not get the sound with plastic combs... I think it is not right! They sound really good to me!

Can't be faulted
Bought this after buying a cheap flimsy harmonica from my local shop, and from doing some research, learning that this was the instrument for me. As far as I know the Special 20 Classic G harmonica uses the same Marine band reeds, that are used by the likes of Neil Young among other musicians.
The difference was astonishing. The special 20 produces a beautiful rich sound with minimal effort, the instrument practically plays itself! I've found the build quality to be excellent, the harmonica is completely sturdy and seems to be made of high quality materials.
The only difference between this and the one used by young, is that the comb is made from plastic as opposed to pearwood, improving durability and reducing swelling from sweat and the like.
I would never have any desire to buy another brand of harmonica seeing what the special twenty can do for it's cheap price. I mean where could you go wrong, harmonicas were invented in Germany, the Special 20 is made in Germany and Thomann is a German website! These people know what they're doing!

Special 20 for Irish music
This is a great harmonica, easy to play, good volume and never disappoints. It takes quite a bit of punishment as well - I much prefer it over more expensive models.

Beautiful chords! I love it.
I am a beginner but I found chords sounded gorgeous on this harp. Bends are quite hard though. I think this is because G is a low key. I have a marine band C harp which sounds more piercing but, being in a higher key, is easier to bend on. Nothing like the lush chords on this G harp though!

DOESNT DISAPPOINT
A very pleasing item from a very good supplier, having recently had to return a set of dreadful harps to another
company it confirms Thoman as my go-to store.

Great harp
Special 20's have excellent playability and sound great. I tried Suzuki, Seydel and Hohners. In my experience, Hohner special 20 sounds great out-of-the-box, have excellent playability and last the same ammount of time as others.
The recessed comb and top notch finishing quality (without sharp edges) makes the sp20 feel very comfortable.

Special 20 G
As usual quality harmonica from Hohner. Special 20 in G sounds to my ear slightly warmer and darker than other models.
