Having read so many great reviews and watched several great video reviews about Harley Benton acoustics, I thought to myself, at such affordable price for so much quality and guitar, this is a no brainer, I must get one. I currently own a Martin D35 and Baby Taylor and I have always wanted 00/Auditorium style guitar with a cutaway body. This model grabs my attention the most and having read all reviews about it, I am slightly worried that I might be down on my luck and receive one with high action, sharp frets, cheap tuners or any defects. I thought I had to risk this, the most I will just have to return it back. I placed an order last Wednesday and it arrived today. I unboxed the guitar and instantly am amazed and blown away by the appearance and feel of the guitar. The satin matte finish is really nice to the touch and looks amazing! The neck feels to comfortable and fits like a glove on the hand when you hold it, the action is low and well setup! The turners feels great - it looks just like the Martin. I picked up play it for a good while, on standard tuning, DADGAD and some other alternate tunings. The sound is amazing, despite having laminated sides and back. It reminded me of the Japanese built mahogany acoustics, warm, balanced, pleasant and with good volume. Seriously I will never imagine a guitar priced at £209 to have such high quality build and sound so great. Realistically you are looking at something around £500 and above to get this kind of quality and sound.
So to sum it all up, this Harley Benton CLA15MCE VS (my only complaint is they need to change and improve on their guitar naming convention! Please Thomann, try to find better names for your guitar series!) extremely amazing for price to tone/quality ratio. Also the built-in timers and pick up is a massive plus and for £200 you will never be able to find Fishman pick ups as standard on other brands. I highly recommend this guitar regardless if you are beginner or pro, this guitar will not disappoint but blow you away. If Harley Benton continues making guitar at this price point and quality, it is only a matter of time before they become a household name for great guitars.
