Light (ish) but solid enough
I use this as a keyboard player, not a drummer, and I'm not a heayweight, and what I'm after is a lightweight but sturdy seat - and this is a pretty good one. It seems to me that I wear out stools faster than drummers do, so it may be that keyboard players place stresses on drum thrones for which they weren't designed. Or maybe it's just my poor posture. Anyway, the normal modes of failure are in the 'memory lock' arrangement (slipping) and the head post of the seat (loosening) - but so far this has done good service without any signs of wear in either of these areas. It's a bit heavier than the last few stools I've worn through but it looks like it'll last a little longer. Definitely worth a try.

Very good for a young player, may be not strong enough for an adult
Bought this for my 7-years old niece, whom I've been teaching for a year now and she out-grew the original Ludwig Jr set seat. It's nicely made and perfect for her, although I'm afraid to sit on it myself - the seat is held by friction, doesn't look strong enough for my bulk.

Good drum throne.
Good drum throne. Stable once you set up the memory lock. Knurling on the main post stops the memory lock from slipping.
Plenty of padding makes it reasonably confortable.
