Works fine, but soft soldering contacts
Machineboy 03.03.2022
These work fine and are ok for the price. The metal soldering contacts inside the plug are very soft and bends easily - take care when putting these together.

Used to make leads for drum triggers

Pros
+ Seems durable
+ fits securely in sockets

cons
- barrel often comes off plug
- the fit in sockets may be too tight, feels like it may wear down the socket

Best for buck for sure
Karmo7 10.03.2020
I use these for permanent installation. They do just great. Good quality, no problems or melting when soldering.
There is no plastic part that pinches the cable in place, like neutrik connectors have (obviously), so maybe not the best (durable) option for stage cabling.

Old School,Great Stuff!
Anonymous 09.05.2016
These are brilliant for replacing those awful moulded on types or over-complex expensive brands that are hard to fix!
I have brought a load of leads back from the dead(including some old curlys)or very quickly made custom lengths for pedal boards,DI's etc...
Give the lugs a light rub with fine emery paper before sanding and if possible use a separate flux and stick or coil solder rather than cored...
For live use either a dab of nail varnish or a thread lock paste helps to stop the grip unscrewing from the barrel...
Vital these, always have spares lying around

Decent quality metal jack for price
misterong 12.02.2020
at this price was not worth buying plastic ones. I used them for the back of a TRS patchbay so not going to take much strain

Yes and NO

The internal tips (where the wires should be soldered) are very weak /fragile.
Yes, for the price it is not a surprise.
If assembled with double care, and not to be used intensively (connect /disconnect all the time) it will do the job just fine.

Good connector.

Work fine. The holes are maybe a bit small, but not unworkable.

Solid, metal construction, clamp is a bit weak
Sawtooth Enjoyer 27.04.2023
Solidly constructed with metal body and with a nice spring for strain relief. Easy enough to solder if you don't try threading the wire through the holes (I tried at first but I have no idea how you'd do it). I think the weakest part is the cable clamp. It's adequate, but some of the other connectors have much better clamps. Also on some of the jacks I received, the tip and ring tabs were sometimes quite bent and I had to bend them back. Not a big deal.

An easy way to make cheap cables!
Conor 13.06.2013
These brilliant little connectors have saved me so much money I could have spent buying cables! Each individual plug comes with it's own plastic sleeving to cover the main connectors and the spring at the end is amazing to prevent my dodgy soldering! Overall a brilliant product and a super way to make jack cables.
