The case is robustly made, the wood construction keeps your bow from harm. Unfortunately, my zipper died on me after about 1-2 years.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Reliable, Well‑Designed Bow Case at a Great Price
I’m very happy with the Protec A228 bow case so far. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do: protect the bow safely and reliably, without unnecessary weight or complications. Of course, it can’t be compared to a high‑end Italian‑style wooden case — but at this price point, it performs far better than expected.
The interior is soft and secure, and it accommodates both French and German bows without any issues. The structure feels solid enough for daily use, rehearsals, and transport. The zipper runs smoothly, and the handle is comfortable to hold.
The rosin pocket is practical and fits most standard rosins like Nyman, Carlsson, Leatherwood, or Kolstein. The only exception is Pops, which is simply too large — but that’s understandable given its unusual size.
Overall, this case offers excellent value for money. It’s lightweight, protective, and well thought out. For anyone looking for a dependable bow case without spending a fortune, this is an easy recommendation.

the zipper on mine failed the first time I used it.
the cloth lining the outside of the case is screwed onto the wooden case. the screws are too close to the zipper create bumps that the zipper struggles (or fails) to get past.

Good performance/price ratio
Good enough.
The only problem is it doesn`t fit all the german double bass bows I have tried.
The external pocket is just enough (with the lid open) for a pops rosin
The zips are slightly problematic sometimes but it works and it works good.

Goede case. Het vakje voor mijn potje pops is wel wat klein. Hij valt ook breder uit waardoor ik deze case niet in het boogvak van mijn rugzak kan steken.
