If you have a great instrument (like the GPCE Inception Maple, for instance), don't go for less. These strings are a decisive part of the sound, which is unbelievably good when they are combined with the right guitar. I tend to go with Martin's recommendations for each of their guitar models. These strings are everything you want, and then some!

Very good strings. Very durable with great sound. However you can still buy the lifespan with less money and still have the same outcome

habe die Saiten jetzt auf 3 Gitarren aufgezogen, die bisher für meinen Geschmack alle unterschiedliche Sätze brauchten. Bei diesen Saiten ist es anders, sie treffen meine Vorlieben auf allen 3 Gitarren und ich habe jetzt für mich den "one fits all" Satz für Akustikgitarren gefunden. Getestet auf: Martin 000-18, Martin 00-16 und eine Gibson LG-2. Die Saiten klingen für meine Ohren sehr ausgewogen - insbesondere im Mittenbereich - haben angenehme und nicht klirrende Höhen, aber ohne dadurch gedämpft zu klingen und sind sehr schwingungsfreudig. Spielgefühl ist auch prima, sie brauchen ein paar Minuten Einspielzeit um sich zu entfalten. Aus meiner Sicht empfehlenswert die Saiten mal anzutesten.

Hatte mehr erwartet

Mit relativ hoher Erwartung hab‘ ich die 12er Kovar-Saiten aufgezogen. Ok - ausgewogen mag sein. Bin jedoch von den Lifespan Saiten mehr Brillianz gewohnt. Auch die Bässe werden auf mein Martin D41 mit Kovar-Saiten nicht so fundamental produziert. Irgendwie klingt die Gitarre jetzt ein bisschen tot…
Hab‘ jetzt wieder Lifespan aufgezogen und bin wieder zufrieden.
Aber so ist es. Instrument Saiten und Musiker müssen zusammenpassen.
