I waited a long time for a device like this..it is pricey but it's worth it. It makes musicians life much easier and opens up interesting options...
and the sound is unquestionable quality... I play Mezzabarba loaded with EL34 and Egnater 88, loaded with KT88, and it,s just superb...

Big Amp? Small Room? No problem!
pamj 22.06.2025
Master volume works? yes it does. Does it sound good? Yes if you know what you're doing... But does it sound the best? absolutely not. I have been advised by some guitar players that I don't need an attenuator for a MV amp... Also some believe that you definitely would benefit from it and they can't use their amp without having one. Well... I agree with the second group. My Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555x and my 2203x came alive as soonas I connected them to the Power station, notes are more pronounced, have a lot of saturation, more sustain and my Marshalls roar. Can't think of using my amps without my PS2A anymore. Shoutout to Fryette for building such an amazing product. Now you should decide too, which side are you? if you are in the same side as me... Fryette Power Station is one of the best attenuators money can buy...if not the best. Good luck

Excellent piece of gear

Does exactly what is intended - fantastic quality and allows me to hear the cranked sound of my Two Rock SSS 100W at bedroom volume.

Expensive but worth it

If you are a tube amp guy, this is a must to get that cranked amp tone and feel at bed room volume.
Careful that this unit has a 50 watts output so it is not great for speakers that are low in wattage.

Excellent, for my needs.

I only use this as an attenuator, running into a speaker cabinet. Over the last 40+ years I have tried many attenuators but all of them ruined the tone of the amp. This Fryette is an amp in it's own right and does not spoil the guitar amps tone at all. I also bought this because of the effects loop too. I wanted to run delay into a clean amp, which is what the Fryette is.
Finally after all these years, I have the ability to use a 50W Marshall head at home practice volume levels with a great tone and great delay sound.
I cannot comment on using it for recording or running into DAW etc. I have not used it for that.
I don't use any of the tone shaping effects either, such as the brightness switch for example, so can't comment on them.
