Nice compromise
dandelo 10.05.2016
I like a fairly light action, and for a guitar that I would be exclusively E-tuning I would use regular 9-42 super lights. But I often tune E-flat or drop-D, and the 6th string gets too sloppy for my taste in those instances. These hybrid sets are a nice option for that. The high strings are still light and easy while the low end maintains more stiffness for lower tuning setups - it's the best of both worlds. These are a little bright when first installed but they mellow out fairly quickly and seem to perform consistently for a long time before getting too dull. To date I haven't broken one.

Superior sound
Marco Leali 18.10.2021
These strings offer a brilliant combination between a strong, muscular sound and an easier playability on the first three strings. It's not the first time I buy this product, but I'm always pleased by the great versatility in sound this string set offers. The quality is very good, like on most Daddario products.
Pros:
- Very versatile sound and playability
- Very durable strings
- Fair price

Cons:
- Never confronted any...

Solide Saiten, gibt aber bessere...
kam1kaze 15.07.2021

Best Strings That I Used So Far
SzKM 26.04.2021
I had been using Ernie Balls for ages but now I thought to give these ones a try. I was pleasantly surprised. The sound was pretty much the same to EB's but the durability and the overall feel of these string turned out to be better. I'm convinced and pretty happy with this purchause and will be buying D'Addario strings in the future.

Cheaper than EvH equivalent.
Anonymous 17.06.2016
Bought these to use on my Wolfgang, based on the gauge already on there. I've used D'addario strings before and really like them, although these days I tend to use either Ernie Ball or Rotosound 10's. I'd forgotten that they have a nice clear sound and feel,(I know most new strings have that, but these keep that feeling and sound for longer). Have to say, looking at the product page for the EvH strings, they actually appear to be in the same packaging as these, apart from the logo.....are "his" strings made by this company? If so, not to take any money away from Eddie, I'll go for these every time at a good £2 - £3 cheaper.

Good strings for not only beginners, but also for experienced guitarists. Good sound, moderately hard, but not too much. I bought a diameter of 9-46, next time I want to try 9-42 maybe. If you don’t know which strings to choose, then these are quite suitable for you. This is my opinion.

Weak fingers!
Christopher6076 20.03.2018
These are now my favourite strings. I like the easy bending of nines but the bass end can sound a little lacking. With these I get the best of both worlds. They last me a long time, I am lucky that my hands do not sweat much and they sound clear and bright. I particularly like them on my Fender and PRS guitars.

Decent
Anonymous 18.10.2016
Those strings are among the most standard strings in rock and metal, the thin gauge in the higher strings enables easy bends and light playing with the bright tone, and the lower strings are more riffing friendly as they're a bit thincker than the standard set that goes to -0.042. Those kind of strings suit well for metal as they aviod any shrill highs on the lower strings. They are also very good for switching to drop D tuning (on the 25.5" scale) or even half step down,

Those strings however, disappoint a bit with their sound compared to Elixir strings for example. The period of shrill tone you get for the first few hours of playing with the new strings is quite long with those strings, though for non-coted strings they do last for quite a while.

While a good and safe choice, they are not the best on the market.
