beyerdynamic DT Hardcase

I finally decided to pick up the beyerdynamic DT Hardcase after realizing I was being way too risky just tossing my headphones into a backpack. It’s a rigid, sturdy case that provides immediate peace of mind for anyone who travels with their gear or just wants to keep it safe from dust and accidental drops.

Why it’s a great addition to the studio:

Premium Build and Feel: The outside has a durable, professional-looking fabric coating that resists wear and tear, while the inside is lined with a luxuriously soft velour. It keeps the headphones completely scratch-free and nicely cushioned.

Practical Design: One of my favorite small details is the little internal pocket attached with a hook-and-loop fastener. It’s the perfect spot to tuck away 6.35 mm adapters or extra cables so you aren’t constantly digging for them at the bottom of a bag.

Universal Fitting: While it’s specifically shaped for the DT series (like the DT 770, 880, and 990 PROs), it also fits a wide range of other circumaural models like the CUSTOM series, MMX 300, and Amiron. You can just lay the headphones in unfolded, making it very quick to pack away.

Lightweight and Portable: Despite being solid and protective, it only weighs about 141 grams. It even has a small loop on the outside if you need to hang it from a backpack.

The only minor thing to note is that it’s a fairly snug fit—if your headphones have a very long or stiff non-detachable cable, you have to be slightly careful when zipping it up to avoid putting pressure on the wire. Overall, it’s a high-quality, "pro" feeling case that does exactly what it's supposed to: keep your investment safe.

Great build quality, but a bit too small.

I'm using this for my DT 770 and DT 880. If the cord would be removable all would be fine, but since it's not I'm afraid this will eventually break the cable connection. The cable has to bend a bit when zipping this thing up.

Already had to solder in a new cable in one pair of DT 770, and it's a pain. If the case would be just a tiny bit bigger I would feel more at ease.

Case feel sturdy, and zipper is great. The little pocket for the adapter is great too. I just expected a better fit since this is an "official" case for the DT series headphones.

I bought this case for my DT-990 PRO headphones and I'm really satisfied. For the most part the fit quite nice. The only con is that the cable gets a bit squeezed in the part where it connects with the headphones. I feel that the case could have been a little bit wider for that purpose. It is quite possible that the connection between the cable and the headphones is very strong, and I don't have to worry about it, but it would still be great if it would have been a little bit larger.

I love the small pocket that actually velcros to the inside, and you can completely remove it! I keep my 6.3mm adapter in it.
