Space-saving desktop sound
The Elevate 5 MkII from Alesis are compact two-way monitor speakers which feature a forward-facing bass reflex system and excellent treble reproduction. The understated and modestly designed wooden casing houses an LF and an HF driver with waveguide, and a volume control, which also serves as an on/off switch, is located on the front of the right speaker together with a headphone output in 3.5mm mini-jack format and status LED. The RCA and 6.3mm jack inputs, left speaker output, a bass boost switch, power switch, and power plug socket are all located at the back of the speaker. An audio cable (RCA to 3.5mm stereo jack), the connecting cable for the left and right speakers, and a power cable are also included in the scope of delivery.
Active and passive – only complete as a pair
As the right-hand speaker is the active counterpart to the left, the Elevate 5 MkII can only be made available in pairs. The power amplifier delivers 40 watts per speaker – an output that is more than adequate for use in the near-field range. A bass reproduction of 80Hz is achieved courtesy of the eponymous 5" LF driver, while the 1" HF drivers with silk dome and waveguide ensure a wide sweet spot for a pleasing sound. Thanks to the forward-facing bass reflex openings, the speakers can also be positioned close to a wall – a feature that is particularly advantageous in small rooms.
For video producers, influencers, and gamers
As space-saving speakers for multimedia applications in small rooms, the Elevate 5 MkII deliver a sufficiently powerful sound with clear, transparent highs, a clean bass response, and excellent stereo reproduction, courtesy of their combined 80-watt output power. When combined with a subwoofer, the speakers deliver a rich sound that will delight video producers, influencers, and streaming gamers in equal measure. Given the extremely reasonable price tag, the quality of these speakers is nothing short of sensational, making this a budget-friendly purchase that will not disappoint.
About Alesis
Alesis was founded in 1984 by Keith Barr in Hollywood, California, and has become one of the leading manufacturers of signal processors, drum machines, synthesizers, and other studio equipment. The company’s most successful products during its early years were the MIDIverb, the HR-16 drum machine, and the ADAT multitrack digital recorders. In 2001, Alesis was acquired by Numark owner Jack O’Donnell and is now part of his InMusic parent company alongside brands like AKAI, Denon, and many other well-known names in the audio manufacturing industry. Alesis has also been a major player in the field of e-drums for many years and offers a large choice of products in all price ranges.
Multimedia, gaming, and desktop audio
The Elevate 5 MkII speakers from Alesis provide the perfect compromise for users looking for quality on a restricted budget. The compact design of the two speakers renders them ideal for use in areas where space is at a premium, making them primarily suited to domestic applications. Not only can the speakers be used to particularly advantageous effect in the video and gaming arenas (in the production of live streams and tutorials, for example), they are also suitable for producing music in bedroom studios, courtesy of their clean bass response and delivery of transparent highs, both of which are particularly beneficial in creating a clear mix.
