32 bit recording is the best new feature in this device and in general in field recorders
I have been doing field recording for few years. It has always bugged me that i cannot record "full dynamic range" at once but i have to do best guessing about how to set gain to proper values to avoid clipping. I guess the best example is recording sounds of thunder. First it is nice and calm with neutral nature sounds but it gets very loud if it comes close to you and suddently your mics are clipping and you have to adjust gains. With the new 32/bit recording feature is possible to record everything without touching knobs and then adjust volumes in post as you want. It wont clip anymore. This is truly amazing feature in this device. Preamps are also very quiet which is something I like since quite often i have been recording very silent sound scapes as well. It is also really nice that you can control the deveice from IOS deveice if you buy the separate wireless bluetooth adapter. The adapter should be integrated and come with the device but now you have to pay for if you want it. Worth mention that the adapter is slightly sticking out from the device but it does not bother me before i notice that i have accidentally dropped it...
This is the best field recorder i have been using. It is also the first professional one i have been using. Before this ihave been using mostly Zoom H2n, Zoom H5 and Sony PCM-M10
