Yamaha Pacifica 112V YNS RL

This is one of the most amazing instruments I have ever played!!!
I was looking for a cheap, durable, and reliable instrument for my very young student. I saw lots of different brands, but Yamaha had the reputation for the features I was looking for.

Being a "low-end entry" instrument, I didn't expect much, but from the moment I unboxed it, I was AMAZED! The guitar is in great shape—no color or varnish issues, no glue, no scratches, spotless (I've seen issues on other brands in this price range). Once I tuned it, I checked its setup—FLAWLESS out of the box—no buzzes, no noises, all notes are in the right place, low action.

The real shocker came when I started playing it. The neck is amazingly comfortable and fast. The fretboard and the frets feel really good to my fingers (no pointy frets or issues). The sound is excellent and balanced across all pickups. The bridge humbucker is very aggressive (as it should be, IMHO) and the split-coil option can give you an almost Telecaster vibe.

These qualities are usually found in much more expensive instruments. The sound didn't lag far behind my Fender Player Series Stratocaster (which costs more than twice as much as the Yamaha Pacifica).
The only thing that surprised me was that the tremolo was in a decked setup and not a floating one. BUT, it makes sense because the instrument is a low-end one aimed at beginners who should concentrate on learning technique and the instrument, not messing around with effects. Also, it's very easy to set the tremolo to a floating setup.

I highly recommend this guitar to beginners or anyone else who wants to get great quality for a low price.

Veramente di ottima fattura, sia il legno che il suono. Molto comoda per me, sono alto 185 cm. Il manico satinato, e non lucido, devo dire che è ottimo e curato alla perfezione. La tastiera è ottima, perfettamente levigata ai bordi sia il legno che il metallo. È spedita con corde già incluse da 9 mm, di buona qualità e perfettamente utilizzabili.
Il suono è molto pulito di base, ed è estremamente versatile, dal funk al hardrock regge perfettamente i toni e lo stile. Ottima, quindi, per chi prende la sua prima elettrica e vuole tenersela per molti anni a seguire.
Il tremolo è buono e regolabile.
Le maccaniche sono buone, e rispecchiano alla perfezione la qualità aspettata da me.
I pick-up sono veramente ottimi, adoro il loro suono, già da quando avevo adocchiato il modello in videorecensioni.
Sono sicuro che la userò spesso per mie sessioni di jamming.

Für meine Band habe ich eine vielseitige Gitarre gesucht, die den Bereich zwischen Funk und Rock abdeckt und auch noch gut aussieht. Es waren Gitarren von HB bis Fender Player Series in der Auswahl, am Ende ist es aber die Yamaha Pacifica 112V YNS RL geworden, da hier einfach das gesamte Paket sowie Preis-Leistung stimmt.

Optik/ Verarbeitung: Wenn man auf sichtbares Holz steht, dann ist diese Gitarre genau das richtige. Schön matt und mit einer formidablen Holzhaptik präsentieren sowohl Hals als auch Korpus. Die Mechaniken in Chrom passen wunderbar, genau wie der weiße Pickguard. Schwarz stünde dem Ensemble auch gut.

Wie von Yamaha erwartet gibt es an der Verarbeitung nichts auszusetzen, alles passt, ist maßhaltig und Lackprobleme gibt es keine (ist ja nicht lackiert :)).

Die Features: Da ich eine recht großen Bereich an Sounds mit nur einer Gitarre abdecken möchte, kam für mich nur die HSS Bestückung in Frage. Vorne Singlecoil Funk, in der Mitte Singlecoil Twang und hinten Humbucker Rock. Alles da und dank Fünfwege Toggle auch alles kombinierbar. Die Mechaniken tun was sie sollen. Der Tremolo kam von Werk aus aufliegend montiert und passt mir sehr gut.

Sound/ Spielbarkeit: Die Yamaha kommt serienmäßig mit einem 09. Saitensatz, der mir aber zu dünn war. Daher kamen die gleich runter und wurden durch Rotosound British Steel in 10er Stärke ersetzt. Hals und Saitenlage angepasst, Zack fertig. Knaller. Wie oben schon beschrieben, das gesamte Soundspektrum wird abgedeckt. Der Hals liegt gut in der Hand und lässt sich über alle Lagen bestens spielen. Die Gitarre ist strattypisch recht leicht und hängt schön neutral im Gurt.

Fazit: Für alle die schönen und vielfältigen Stratsound mögen, auf Holz stehen und nicht allzuviel Geld ausgeben will, wird mit der Yamaha Pacifica 112V YNS RL glücklich.
