A must have for mixing with UAD plugins
As many have stated you can't have too many UAD plugins! they sound great but DSP runs out fast.
for songwriters who use single or duo core (arrow, apollo) dsp interfaces of UA like myself you will need extra dsp if you plan to do your own mixes.
I've got an arrow and a UAD 2 Satellite TB3 Quad hooked up on a Macbook pro 13" (2019) Mojave OSX and works great. it is stable and never had a drop out so far. In case you don't know the Satellite DSR power is only for mixing and NOT for tracking/recording.
I would also want to add that Universal Audio has a great customer service and value their customers a lot. Their team has a presence in social media and help out with tips and guides whenever you need them. Great experience so far. I highly recommend!
Keep in mind that the standard plugins that come with all their interfaces are more than enough for songwriters to do their job. Professionals will have to spend more to get their hands on their premium plugins which to be honest will save them thousands of $$$$ since the hardware versions are way more expensive.

Add extra DSP
Bought this to have extra DSP on top of my Apollo Twin X quad.
Easy to set up, it took literally 1 minute to plug and connect to UAD website for registration.
What i didnt like is that the unit came with 3 plugins as part of a special deal, which i took in consideration... among those i already owned 2 of them: the promotion said i could have picked others instead. What i didnt know is that all the plugins i really looked to have were not part of the bundle, so im now picking minor stuff instead. I would have appreciated a wider choice, or the possibility to choose one plugin instead of two, but choosing one I really needed. This way you dont really enjoy the benefit of the promotion if you are already a owner of plugins as they only offer the most common ones. But the unit does what it says.
