Excellent value sax

If you're looking for an affordable bari as an all-round instrument, this one should fit the bill. Decent build quality, nice solid tone and good positioning.

I'm not a pro player, but do practice most days and the alto is my first love and has been for more than 25 years. The bari was a treat for myself as a fun instrument in the knowledge that it probably wouldn't be played as often. Hand on heart it isn't the same quality as my Selmers, but for the price the Thomann Pro is absolutely excellent value. I've put it through its paces with classical, jazz, rock and funk pieces and it more than holds its own.

Delivered promptly to the UK from Germany (3 days door to door) it arrived in excellent condition and I needn't have worried about care in international travel. Well protected and very little needed in the way of tweaks to the set-up. Only minor niggle is that the cork is a bit thick making tuning a bit of a faff, but that's easy to address.

Really pleased overall, thank you Thomann.

Vorab - ich bin alles andere als ein Profi,
Sax Spiele ich seit gut 20 Jahren, aber eben nur gelegentlich bisher auf einem Yamaha YAS25 Alt-Sax.

Nun wollte ich mir ein schönes tiefes Sax gönnen.

Optisch gefällt mir das Sax sehr gut - wenn man es länger in der Hand hat, dann riecht man das unlackierte Messing, wer das nicht mag, sollte ein lackiertes Modell nehmen.

Die Ansprache ist nach meiner Einschätzung genauso leicht wie bei meinem Alt-Sax. Lediglich die obersten Töne machen mir noch etwas Schwierigkeiten.
Mein unprofessionelles Gehör findet die Intonation gut (spiele seit 30 Jahren Geige, also Tonhöhen kann ich relativ gut einschätzen)

Das Mundstück dabei klingt in den tiefen Tönen ganz gut, ab dem oktavierten g (gegriffen) klingt es mir zu "päpig", da werde ich mir noch was anderes suchen müssen.

Alle Tasten/Klappen sind für mich recht gut erreichbar, auch wenn ich relativ klein bin 1,67cm.

Ich bin mit meinem neuen Instrument sehr zufrieden und jetzt hochmotiviert um zu üben.

Fantastic valve for the money

First I have to say I am not a pro but play a lot of music in 5 different bands ( jazz to fanfares ) and have been looking to change my old King bari for some time and after considering all the different options chose Thomann because it has a good name for quality ( its made in Taiwan ) and price. There was a slight delay in sending it but once in Germany it was expedited rapidly
Opening the box the sax immediately presents an object of beauty but playing it is incredibly easy all the notes high and low in tune, the keys work very efficiently for playing fast, obviously I use my existing mouthpieces a Berg Larson and a cheapo Chinese metal one. You can feel it will produce lots of interesting harmonics in the tone when I am more accustomed to it
I have a Selmer alto and Yani tenor so can appreciate quality saxes and in my opinion the bari Pro PB is a quality sax also and is excellent valve for the money
