didn't last a gig
We Perchased one of these for use with a small pa system as a monitor amp. the first one we had died within half an hour due to fan failure so got a replace meant and thought we would give it another try , the second one lost 2 channel and crackled on other in a sound check. so sent back for a refund
outer build quality looked good and when it worked sound quality was good.
But reliability was poor !
it could of been a bad batch or just our bad luck but was enough for us to not trust the product

Compact and Convenient
I bought this amp over a year and half ago to be used for monitors at a local church. Since installing, there has been no problems what so ever with it. It gets used 4 to 5 times a week, and although is never driven 'hard', it is well used.
Sounds good, and has adequate power for our needs, and 4 amp channels in one 1u box is amazing.
I had heard distant tales of problems, all I can say is it has worked flawlessly for us!

4x500w in just 1rack.Noisy for home threader
It is a nive piece of hardware. But it has these small fans that are really noisy for silence home theater room.
Other than that, it is a great unit

Thomann, you own us money, plz pay.
We bought one t.amp D4-500, after like 4 weeks delivery, we finally got it.
Just to notice that only 3 of 4 channels were working.
Called Thomann, they would take it in return, but would not send a replacement before they received the broken one.
They also told us that they would cover the shipping costs, but even if we have sent all required documents regarding this, we still have not seen any money, now it's been like 8 weeks, still no money.
Well, it's only like 50-60$, but as it seems like now, it sure looks like theft, but what do we know.
Anyhow, last week the new replacement amplifier arrived, and guess what??
Yes, this one has the same error, only 3 of 4 channels are working, so now we have to send this one back to Thomann as well.
Never again will we do business with Thomann, bad products, bad service, and they will not pay back our money they own us.

Excellent bang for your buck
Really nice lightweight useful amp. Cant beat Class D amps with a switch mode PSU

10 years and still going strong.
I've had this amp over 10 years now initially used 2 channels for PA and 2 for monitoring with my band, I now use it to power the mid/tops of my big rig (8kW total). As others have said the fans can be a bit noisy but in a pub, club or a festival no one will notice!

Not heavy
Very good performane and very light weight easy to use. 1u rack size is very usefull for transporting. I use this model for my ev sx 300 monitor speakers. 500w each channel very enough for 12" monitor speakers. When i use 2 pieces t.amp d4-500 on my stage my all monitor problem is solved. With 2 amplifiers i get 8 channel, i love 4 channel amps like this situations.

Lots of power in a small pack
Need an amp in a small pack. I have several sets of active speakers, but then faced with a need of amplification for four channes.
Have four amps in a 1U rack unit. WOW. Very good for monitor or zone speakers, or a small PA set. XLR in and speakon out, level trim/ channel, all you need. Sound quality does not fully match the real amps, but many times you can not afford carrying 20 -30 kg monsters around.

Quality digital amp
We use two of these, one to drive the PA tops and one to drive the stage monitors.
They have been very reliable and the sound is very good. The reduction in weight of our amp rack is a huge bonus. Not sad to to leave the old power amps 30kg each in 2 racks of 2 back in the store for back up if needed.

Nice piece of kit
Got it connected on bridge with no problems and is a great fit in the rack above the CD player, now I am totally portable with 2 CD player amp and mixer in one manageable case weight wise, seems to drive the Peavy's ST-15's effortlessly.
