Fine bag, though expensive, heavy, and a bit gimmicky
Bag feels very well made, very robust and should wear well, though I personally don't like imitation leather (at the top and bottom) all that much. Offers good protection with thick padding, though time will tell how long the lining holds up particularly around the tuning pegs. Rather on the heavy side, my previous cordura bag with thinner padding weighed 3.5 kg (7.7 lb), this one is 4.8 kg (10.6 lb).. Would prefer to have fastening ringlets for a single carrying strap at the neck and at the bottom rather than on the sides; that would allow easy carrying on the side rather than on the back, where the bass hits your calves when you walk. The pouch for rosin, mute etc. at the scroll end is rather flat and opens to the side, meaning it's difficult to use if the bass is lying on its right side with the zipper downwards. Also clumsy to use when the bass is standing up, as stuff tends to fall out. The little inside pockets are too small for anything larger than a matchbox-- can't think of what they were meant to be used for since neither my rosins nor my mutes will fit into them. I'd prefer a top-opening pouch on the front bottom without any inside gimmicks. The numerous handles are good for moving and stowing. The bow case pouch is free-floating on the inside (not sewn into the cover except at the mouth), which is good since it doesn't bend the bow or bow case and offers better protection. I expect the bag to last my lifetime since my previous bag lasted 40 years and I'm nearly 70 now.
