Ketron K 8 Midi-Pedal

Oletan, että tuotetyyppi on sen verran harvinainen, että suurenpi kuin kysymys kuin itse tuotteen laatu, on se, että tekeekö tällaisella mitään. Kirjoitan siis tästä.

Bändissä on neljä henkeä ja välillä on tilanne, että vähän koskettimia huutaisi, mutta lisää soittajia ei haluta. Päätettiin kokeilla, että voisiko vaikka basisti soittaa synamattoa pohjalle tällaisella pedaalilla. Yllättävän hyvin on pelannut. Sointujen tai pitkän bassosävelen soitto onnistuu yllättävän helposti ja tuo mukavaa lisää bändin sointiin.

Itse soitto on aika helppoa, mutta on tossa pieniä negatiivisiakin puolia. Aina kun virrat sammuvat, katoaa syntikan ja pedaalin yhteys ja pitää kyykkiä ja painaa pari nappia. Itse pedaalit ovat muovisia ja vähän sen tuntuisia, että kuinka paljon niiden päälle uskataa laittaa painoa, mutta ainakin toistaiseksi ovat kestäneet.

Loppukaneettina, että tätä ostaessa oli mielessä, että mahtaako tämmöisestä olla mihinkään, mutta ainakin meille tämä oli nappiostos. Ollaan erittäin tyytyväisiä.

This arrived with Thomann's normal efficiency. The flimsy cover was cracked in two places, rather than send it back I took photos and asked for a new cover, which Thomann have agreed to send when they get one, which to date has not arrived after 3 weeks. I especially like the default to channel two. The method of changing which midi channel it is sending on is simple, and can be done easily with the feet. I have played with the Octave shift, but I can't really thik this would be of any use to me they are Bass pedals after all. There is a sustain option but after playing with it out of curiosity, have not bothered. The metal frame promises to help the item have a long life, with all our equipment we treat them well rather than just fling it about so I am not expecting any problems. With the three year guarantee as well what is there not to like? Plug and play simplicity is what is needed and this is what we got. The price seems fine. What is missing? I would like the option to be able to turn the velocity sensitivity off, rather than doing it in the midi box but this is a minor point. We got what we were looking for and the switch mode power supply is fine. No discernable noise injected into our PA caused by this unit. 4 stars only due to the flimsy cover though.

The Ketron K8 is a one octave MIDI footpedal with MIDI out for connection to any MIDI sound device or computer.

It is very well made, strong case and looks like it will last a long time. Has good features like transpose and sustain pedal input.

In use the pedal responds well to velocity and note changes - very simple to use, very simple to set-up.

Overall very good product - does exactly what is says.
