I purchased these snare wires for a snare drum project I was undergoing. The shell I have put these on is 16 ply and is 13" x 6". What is brilliant about these wires is that they react to all sorts of tunings. They really help to enhance that crack you get under high tunings. And under low tuning the actual sound of the snares aren't lost at all.
Snare buzz is a common issues, whether it be from the sound of the toms, kick, guitars or vocals. However, these snare wires seem to cope well and the buzz is a rare thing.
In terms of its studio capabilities, it manages to cut through thick guitar layers without needing to be boosted so much.
The only thing I could say to improve this product, and this is me just being picky, would be a choice in colour of the two end plates. If you have a snare with gold hardware, like mine, then gold plates would simply add to the colour scheme, likewise with black nickel.
If you want snare wires that work perfectly for both live and studio scenarios, I would highly recommend these.
