The best, but not without flaws

As expected from Neutrik, the frame is solid and well built. Frame is easily dismantled from the connector eg. for painting purposes (frame and connector are held together by two screws).

Perhaps partly due to consumer nature of the HDMI connector itself these are not rock solid and will wear off eventually. In rental usage these last about a year after which the connector simply disintegrates. Before it does that, connector becomes so loose that no cable will stay steadily in place or make a good contact unless being supported - which, of course, is already game over.

For professional installations these are very handy, easily keeps your customers off the precious AV-equipment and while not being ultimately dirt cheap still offer a good bang for the buck. However, compared to Neutrik's other installation connectors (XLR, RCA) that cost less than half the price these should last much longer - rental usage or not. It should be noted that even the cheapest HDMI cables outlive this connector. It is pretty much vice versa what I was expecting when I first ordered these.

Decent panel connector

Well made connector as you might expect from Neutrik. HDMI cables mate nicely in it. On balance I prefer to use this in a D-Type panel with a lacing bar on the rear to tie the 'internal' HDMI cable to, there is a little give and wobble in the HDMI cable when mounted. That is however to be expected from HDMI and is not a fault with the connector. The socket is recessed about 2mm into the housing, I've not found this to be a problem with any of the HDMI cables we use.

Very easy to use!

I used these sockets in conjunction with the Thon Rack Panel 1U 12XLR. They fit in the aperture of the rack panel perfectly and provide an easy front facing socket for a HDMI connector. It's especially easy to use as you just plug an existing HDMI lead in the back, so no soldering!!! :)
