In 2014, Johnny Winter teamed up with Mojotone to create his signature Firebird pickup. Based on his original Firebird pickups, the exact same materials and specifications are used: aged cast Alnico magnets, vintage spec wire and a steel reflector plate
Carefully balanced neck and bridge pickups for more consistent output and response between all positions
Custom winding pattern for wider frequency response and dynamic range with more output and sustain
Connections: 2-wire
DC resistance bridge: 6.9 kOhm
DC resistance neck: 6.3 kOhm
Magnet material: Alnico 5
Cap colour: Chrome

Ich habe das Mojotone Johnny Winter Firebird Set in meine Epiphone Firebird eingebaut. Die Pickups von Epiphone klangen mir etwas zu schrill. Mit den Mojotone ist das Klangbild deutlich ausgewogener. Trotzdem ist der typische Klang einer Firebird da und die Töne kommen perlig differenziert. Auch Akkorde werden schön durchgezeichnet und alle Saiten klingen ausgewogen miteinander.
