A simple, but excellent crossover
I bought this crossover in order to control better the signals going to the subwoofers and tops at a medium sized venue. The tops are decent JBL's, while the subs are the the box pro Achat 118 A. Oh boy, this little unit really made a difference.
The main problem with the Achat-subs is that you can either pass on the whole signal with the low end to the top speaker or then you can pass on everything above 125 hz. As this gave me as a sound engineer too little to play around with, I decided to get something simple to split the signal and control it a bit better. This really transformed the way the speaker system sounded. The sound basically became a lot less muddy, and now I can get the best out of the tops and the subs.
You don't have too much controls in this unit, but for most situations, you get all you need. Everyone has their way of working with gear, and for me just getting a thing that separates the low end from the signal in a very simple and clean matter was enough. You definitely don't need a degree in order to work out, how this thing works.
Thank you Thomann!
