The nanoKEY Studio controller is primarily aimed to be used wireless with the iPad, which is the way I am using it. The device can be connected with PC/OS computers too, but mostly nanoKEY is designed to be portable. The integration with iPad is easy to set up, and there are instructions for this in the manual.

The device build quality is plastic-ish and the x/y pad is not as good as in for example Kaoss Pad 3. As a light and portable controller however this is no surprise, and the design is ok for the price.

The problems start when you start using nanoKEYS Studio with iPad apps. The device is fully integrated with Korg Gadget app - and it only. For example I am yet to find out how to use the controller knobs with Korg's own iMS-20 app as well as iPolySix. The keyboard works just fine, but the option of tweaking any sounds with nanoKEYS knobs isn't there.

This is of course a Bluetooth MIDI and MIDI #CC issue, but I was just puzzled that Korg's own app catalogue are limited in that sense.

All in all nanoKEYS was ok buy, but not that great.

It's absolutely value for the money! The Bluetooth MIDI works excelently on my iPad (2018) and Samsung Galaxy Tab A - few programs, I have tested it on, are Reason Compact, Korg's own nanoStudio - naturaly, on iOS and G-stomper on Android. Recording MIDI with Arpeggios and chord helpers translate nicely. It does - in my experience, however have some random connectivity issues with USB MIDI to Windows PC . But all in all, a Great buy and so happy with it :)
