It's my first guitar ever, so this isn't an extremely objective review. However, based on my ukulele experience, this is a pretty good guitar for the price.

It sounds good, although of course there are better sounding guitars out there at higher prices. The action is reasonably low, so playing it isn't too much of a pain. The quality is generally fine, but I have to deduct one point for the plastic pick guard. It has a small chafing in it and while one shouldn't expect anything better at this pricepoint, it being plastic deducts a bit from the otherwise quite high quality feel the guitar has.

So again, although my stringed instrument experience comes from purely ukulele, I feel like this is a very decent guitar for someone starting out. Perhaps even for more experienced people who need a cheap second guitar for travel.

Quality surpasses its price tag.

of, the overall guitar quality is beyond expectation. It is as though i bought a 700 euro worth guitar. The tone of the guitar itself is surprisingly rounded and balanced. The neck shape is superb, it is slim and very comfortable. The string action is amazingly low without any buzzing. Although a slight buzzing sound on the 4th string 1st fret. The frets are very well made and seated properly, smooth, even, and without sharp edges.

Downside is that bridge pins are plastic. The bridge pin holes are smaller than the standard bridge pins, in this case you might either need to make the hole bigger using a file or filing down the pins to fit the hole properly. Even if you buy HB bridge pins, it won't fit their own guitars!!!

If you are prepared to manually adjust, fine tune, or file the nut, bridge saddle, bridge pins, or the bridge holes; go ahead and buy the guitar. In the end, in my opinion, the quality surpasses its price tag.

Hintaisekseen hyvä kokopuukannella varustettu akustinen. Soundi voisi olla parempi, mutta kielien vaihdon jälkeen yllättävän hyvä. Positiivinen yllätys oli luinen satula.

Everything you need at a very good price

My rating is based upon value.
When buying cheap acoustic guitars with pickup (and tuner) I have for a long time bought Washburn and occasionally Yamaha. The Washburn WD10sce (and the d10sce before that) have been my pick again and again in this price range. This guitar is very similar to that. Not as fancy looking as the wd10sce and for me that is a good thing. The CLD-16SCE is very basic when it comes to looks. But that also means less stuff to go bad. The one I received had a different logo at the headstock. It says HB only and looks better I think. Some of the other Harley Benton guitars on this website have the same logo as this guitar.
The quality of the craftsmanship is good and on par with the Washburns I've bought.
The pickup and preamp from Fishman is identical with the Washburns. It's not the best sounding pickup system in the world, but it does an acceptable job. It's better than the other low end preamps I have tried. Having an onboard tuner is great and it makes my guitars with no tuner hanging on the wall. When it comes to amplified sound my Fishman Matrix equipped guitar sounds much better. But it is not fair to compare these two guitars when the price is so very different!
All in all I'm very pleased with my purchase and the next time I need to get a good but low cost acoustic it is this one again. Only problem with this guitar is the respect-from-other-guitarists-factor. This does not say some fancy brands name on the headstock. The resale value might not be as good as with a more recognized brand. But hey you'll not be selling this little gem!
